We strongly believe ‘the people make the pub’ and that goes from the management to the bar staff, the customers to the suppliers, everyone plays their part in making this a great place to be. Our Leytonstone pub is the perfect spot for young professionals looking for an after-work drink or somewhere to plug in your laptop for a change of scenery, sporting aficionados looking for the best spot to see upcoming games and sporting events, and most importantly the locals in the area who have supported us from day one.
Great roast! Potatoes are crispy, veg cooked really well. I had the pork belly...delicious. Slightly disappointing dessert. Sticky toffee was tasty but not warm enough and ice-cream not great but would definitely come again
So, this place is a mess. Barely contained chaos and poor, under resourced staff (2 of them on a hugely busy Wednesday night before xmas working to serve the bar and bring out food!!) trying their best to make a dent in a huge queue of people who are in turn desperate to get a drink to go with their food. Dirty plates and glasses left on tables for hours on end - no surprise given there aren't enough staff working. Some of the tables are awfully positioned next to open doored toilets or serving hatches, again layered with dirty plates. One half of the pub (the cavernous football watching / games hall) cold, music-less and entirely without atmosphere. Pool table. One broken, the other terrible to play with old balls and a single, chalk-less queue. You have to pay £5 to use it! and then find someone else has been double booked onto it. Massive groups of kids screaming and running around huge dirty tables. The food, when it did arrive eventually, was pretty decent - Krapow-moo never fails but other than that this was a dire experience that needs addressing by the management who are seemingly trying to maximise profits at the expense of customer experience. We were shocked and frankly appalled and felt really sorry for the bar staff who were doing their best under awful conditions.
Bit chaotic. Quite noisy due to football and lots of families. Unable to order on app as could not find one of the specials options. Food delivered quickly and generous portions. Pork belly & Turkey very good. Beef overcooked/dry. Had to go get own cutlery as not brought with food and ask for condiments/sauces to be provided. We will return for another Sunday roast in the future.
Good pub with lots of space - a few different rooms, a sports hall, and a beer garden. The Krapow Thai food is tasty but a bit on the oily side - the tofu drunken noodles and the aubergine are good. However I have been here before their kitchen’s advertised closing time and been told that the kitchen was closed, and at another time waited 50 minutes for our order as they had forgotten our order (we got a refund).
We went for wings Wednesday and the food was delicious! As it was my bday we got a free bottle of bubbly too. We are definitely coming back and making it a regular monthly daughter/mother date night.
