Although the present building dates back to 1545, the National Monuments Record have stated that it was constructed on earlier foundations. Today it benefits from a listed Grade II, awarded primarily for the pub’s interior; the ‘beamed ceilings, benches, plank paneling and engraved glass screen’ but also for its ‘group value and historical associations.’ Despite later changes, the pub has a distinctive atmosphere.
Come for a meal or just for a drink. Our seasonal food is freshly prepared for you, with a choice of traditional roasts on Sunday. We have four cask conditioned ales, hand picked speciality spirits and fine wines and Prosecco by the glass or the bottle.
Why not let us take care of you for a few hours? We’ll do the cooking and the washing up, leaving you to relax and unwind.
We look forward to seeing you soon….

An inn, lovely surroundings, right on the Thames riverbank, a great historic pub with friendly owners and bar staff, very attentive service, food was tasty. The decorations for Christmas were amazing. A must for anyone in the area,
Amazing pub. We were on a 4 day trip to London last week, and were staying in Wapping. We stumbled upon the Town of Ramsgate, hoping it would be a "traditional" British pub, and we were not disappointed. The pub is in a quiet part of London and is easily accessible via the tube. Inside the pub was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The bartenders were wonderful and welcoming, which made this to be the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a late-night supper. We had such a great experience that we ended up coming here for dinner all 3 nights that we stayed in Wapping. The food was delicious and the beer selection on tap was good as well. We would recommended the steak & ale pie, fish and chips, and the Irish stew. Prices were very reasonable. Overall, our experience at the Town of Ramsgate was fantastic and we hope to one day return again. We strongly recommend going out of your way if in London to experience this pub. This was one of the highlights of our trip.
A well-loved gem of a local pub in Wapping High Street, family run and with a welcoming atmosphere. They sell a good selection of ales and beers (the Harvey’s is my favourite) and also stock Tayto crisps which imho are the finest!
Pizza is really cripy and delicious. We love the spicy pork one 🥰 Highly recommend. Mashed potato and sausage is also comforting . Don't forget to order a refreshing draugh beer. Love it :)
A regular spot for me and my partner, an outgoing and friendly team and service style always leaves us wanting to come back! The food is proper pub grub! Pricing is reasonable for the area and the place itself is homely with a very adoring outside space. Easy enough to book to! Haven't a bad word to say, love this pub, and will forever be returning. Thank you so much to the team that keeps this place open, cheers 🥂
