About us

Welcome to the Princess of Prussia

A wonderful throwback to Victorian London, the Princess of Prussia in Whitechapel beguiles with its traditional charm and authentic atmosphere.

The pub, close to Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and several other historic city sights, has been recently restored to its former glories - bringing the original facade of ornate ceramic mouldings, cornices and fascia tiles back to life.

The character continues inside too, where a cosy, comfortable traditional bar serves real ales from Britain’s oldest brewer. It’s the perfect place to savour a proper pint on the tourist trail, offering refreshment following a tour of the Tower or a stroll round St Katharine’s Dock.

The Princess of Prussia is also a place to find fine food, and it’s here that tradition takes a twist. The pub can also cater for special events by tailoring a buffet to your taste.

And if there weren’t already enough reasons to visit, The Princess has one last secret up her sleeve. A tranquil, secluded courtyard garden is the perfect spot for summer - offering a rare oasis of calm in the heart of the capital.

Nice pub, serving Thai food. Beautiful, lovely barmaid.Wooden decor with open fire. I was here with several other Ramblers. We almost had the place to ourselves.

Great, easygoing, unpretentious East end boozer. Each time I drink in here I feel like some historical figure will come crashing through the door; Edmund Reid for example bursting in quizzing all about the whereabouts of Jack the Ripper. I feel like I've entered a time Portal whenever I come in here😊. A wonderful, friendly & enjoyable place.

Such a cozy dark pub. Good for visitors. Very friendly service. Walls covered with photos and drawings. Thai food or fish and chips and other options like a burger. Beer on tap. Full bar.

What an amazing space for a drink either on your own or with friends. If your on your own you'll be delighted with the array of wall hangings and pictures trinkets and true Irish pub memorabilia (which isn't all Irish) This establishment is a true pub in the sense it has old worldly feel and atmosphere. Off the beaten track, down from Algate East worth the walk and adventure. Don't miss out on an experience not just a beer.

Excellent pub near Tower Bridge. It has a really traditional look (Victorian all the way), a good range of beers on tap and excellent Thai food. Definitely recommended and the prices are very good. Also there's a real fire
