This is a great pub and my favourite in London. The staff are very friendly and the view over the river from the beer garden is unmatched. It's a great place to visit at any time of the year, but it really can't be beaten on a summers day. The food is much improved as well so it's definitely worth a visit!
Surprisingly nice on a Sunday afternoon. Had a nice table outside overlooking the Thames. Not too cold with heat lamps and reasonably priced pints of Wolfpack session beer.
This pub is directly on the Thames around the corner from my Mum’s flat. Awesome fish and chips; a huge portion of wonderful flaky fish, with perfectly cooked chips. The steak and ale pie and mashed potatoes were perfect; with a yummy crust, a delicious filling, ale gravy and the perfect mash. The interior is filled with wood and big tables, with huge windows to view the Thames, all beautifully decorated for Christmas! Amy the barmaid, was very warm, and our food arrived very promptly. Was a perfect meal and experience.
This place is lovely. The decor is rustic and has a good traditional pub feel to it. We had a Sunday roast which tasted good.
Chips were initially served cold. A second portion was served hot, but under cooked. Prices here are insulting. The portion of chips seen in my picture was £3.50 - it is an insulting portion size. I'm sure it would not affect margins much to increase the size of the portion. I would understand the portion size if the chips were great quality, and effort had gone into making them - but frankly minimal effort had gone into them. The battered cod goujons again were pathetic. 3 pieces, for £6.25, with one of the pieces being mostly batter. Served cold. Drinks are very pricey. A 2 pints of fountain Coke was £7.50. All in all stay away from this place if you want good food. Stay further away if you want reasonable prices. Go here if you would like insultingly small portions, served cold, and at a high price.
