About us

The Country Pub in London set in the heart of Putney Heath, a stone's throw from Wimbledon Common and opposite Roehampton Cricket Club, The Telegraph is only five minutes from the hustle and bustle of Putney High Street.

A warm and friendly welcome is at the heart of every great country pub and here at The Telegraph we are a family, children and a dog friendly place from the depths of winter to the splendour of an English summer.

We are fortunate to have lots of space. We have a huge garden which is perfect for enjoying this glorious country spot in the heart of Putney Heath.

On the ground floor we have a whopping bar with brilliant beers and 8 ale pumps and a cosy snug with an open fire. The Cornish room is ideal for a more relaxing eating space and where we celebrate the achievements and prowess of The London Cornish rugby club.

On the first floor we have an enormous space ideal for functions and parties with its separate bar and we will be opening our whisky lounge shortly. The first floor is an ideal area for parties, functions, weddings and business meetings. We will be holding regular music events here and this is also a brilliant space to watch all the major rugby matches.

Our food is freshly made every day and changes with the seasons. Our Sunday roast is a major focus of our week.

We can cater for all sizes of parties and offer a range of buffet and party options.

The team look forward to seeing you very soon!.

By far the best pub in the area. The food is top notch with your usual pub standbys as well as an ever changing selection of seasonal dishes. Good rotating beer selection as well with a nice selection of local and larger brands. The garden in the warmer months is the highlight with comfy chairs and picnic tables to enjoy a warm evening. Very highly recommended.

Nestled in the charming Putney Common, the setting is truly beautiful. The friendly atmosphere, coupled with approachable staff, made the overall experience good. I would definitely revisit, especially during the Christmas season. Has a very spacious feel with log fire places and dogs welcome. A very country pub feel. Food was also good/very tasty.

A hidden gem. Visited here after a funeral at 11.30. We were welcomed by a member of staff. Explained we just wanted to warm up. Ordered coffee and tea. To out suprise it was served with a homemade biscuit. Just so cosy sitting by the fireplace. Many people arrived after a walk for lunch. Definitely returning here again for that out of London feel

I loved this hidden treasure in Putney . It's warm, inviting, tastely decorated. Service is amazing! Food is super tasty. The wine list has some great options. They offer some small desserts perfect if you have a sweet tooth. I was only a bit disappointed with the grapes in the cheese platter, it looked like a half eaten bunch! But overall, i really enjoyed it!
