This newly done up pub is probably what would now be referred to as a 'gastropub', but having saaid that they still have six every well kept ales on tap which includes one guest (Hobgoblin at time of visit). Doom Bar was excellent and served in a 'proper' tankard.

Food is very good indeed, if at the top end of this particular writer's normal food budget. Although, they also seem to do a very nice looking set menu which offers a range of more affordable choices (the wife decided that she was being treated, however, when we visited...so A la Carte it was!).

Has a lovely looking garden to the rear. Raining when we went so couldn't really tell you anymore about that.

Service was friendly, efficient and relaxed. Dining rooms upstairs are definitely worth the journey to see.

All in all a lovely place and would recommend to anyone.

This was last month. A very poor pint badly poured. Nozzle in glass, swilling of glass and liquid. Beer went flat really quick.

Don your tartan trews and order a wee dram, as we celebrate, once again, the life and poetry of the Scottish poet Robert Burns.

We will be serving traditional Scottish haggis, neeps and tatties to mark the annual Burns’ Night event (Thursday 25 January), as well as throughout the week, from Saturday 20 until Saturday 27 January (inclusive).

Together with the ever-popular haggis, neeps and tatties meal, we will be serving our Highland burger dish – a 6oz burger, topped with haggis and served with a whisky sauce, chips and six beer-battered onion rings.

The haggis meal and Highland burger dish will also both include a drink, either soft or alcoholic, from our meal-deal drinks range. As well as Robert Burns Brown Ale (4.2% ABV) and IPA choices, a range of Scottish spirits will be included for Burns’ week.

    Happening from 20/01/2018 to 27/01/2018
