Been visiting Pico for several years and at first was excellent even recommended and was also very pleased, sadly over the years service and quality has slowly been dropping. Last visit 17th Dec '23, main course for two people Duck Breast was ordered with mushroom cream sauce, one came back plain, other had a red current sauce, one cooked well other well under cooked when mentioned waiter returned saying it was cooked as medium, ( thought was a bit rude from waiter) Two same meals ordered both came back different. At the time we was the first in so Pico were not that busy. Waiter needs more training to get order correct. It was only two people ordering the same meal, at a non busy time. In these difficult times of expense of cost of living a better service on quality would have been appreciated. Having paid our bill the another waiter then gave us a menu for dessert. Sadly as we have seen standards fall over the years we will be going elsewhere for future meals, and will not recommend Picos. As for temperature it was on cold side for both of us, It was not busy at time of booking as we had booked 12-00pm, staff was still arriving shortly after. TV showed Football of a Premiership Game from day before.
I was really hoping for better. Took about 20 minutes to get a chicken and rice tapas. No flavor. Chicken was cut with bone. Almost cut my mouth on the bone because I wasn't expecting it.
My family and I ate here to celebrate a birthday. We had a good time. Lots of bread , butter and spreads to accompany your meal. Food took a little time to come out. Pizza has a lot of cheese and not much dough. Maybe avoid the pizza. The best dishes were the Perri chicken, the spaghetti and breaded chicken. I would visit again if in the area
While visiting London for the first time we were walking looking for a place to have supper. My wife had the Vegetable soup and side of fries and I had the Tagliatelle with Bolognese sauce, with a local cider. We both enjoyed our meals, in particular the fresh cut fries.
Fabulous restaurant under the railway arches at Vauxhall. You can hear the trains rumbling overhead but you soon forget about them. The staff were friendly, it did feel as though they were rushing you to get on with ordering, particularly between asking about dessert however they did it rush us to pay the bill and leave. Good range of food on the menu I am sure it would suit all tastes and the food was delicious. The dessert menu was like stepping back in time. Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant. Certainly worth a try if you are in the area.
