The Pig’s Head is an independent, farm-to-fork pub in Clapham Old Town. We are a passionate bunch, and our mission is simple; to be the best pub in Clapham and the most sustainable pub in the UK.
We were certified carbon neutral in April 2023 and shortlisted for the Most Sustainable Business at the 2023 Catey Awards (the hospitality ‘Oscars’ no less).
We have our own organic kitchen garden in Kent (@pubinafield) and work primarily with regenerative farms to buy whole native-breed animals that we butcher on-site to ensure the food on our guest’s plates is as good and as sustainable as it is possible to get.

The scotch egg was the best I've ever had (and the jam on the side was also amazing). Sunday roast (beef) was also nice. I didn't love the 'no waste' cauliflower and cheese because of the bitter pieces of vegetables that were inside - I like the concept, but it was ruining the dish. I didn't love the apple pie, the sticky toffee pudding was really good. You're looking at around ~£50 per person. We waited 45 minutes to an hour for the food to arrive. Nice decoration and friendly staff. You need to book in advance. I like the concert of donation when you get water, referred to as 'charity water'.
Sunday Roast Absolutely outstanding 😀 My partner had Vegetarian Wellington she found it absolutely amazing and struggled to finish it because there was so much food. I had the Roast Beef 🍖 The beef was extremely tender and full of flavour, the potatoes were crispy on the outside and very soft and fluffy in the middle, as you bite into them they are succulent with a nice lightly salty/buttery flavour. The Yorkshire pudding was massive super crispy and fluffy in the middle and a real treat to eat. I passed on the seasonal vegetables as I didn't like of them, however my partner dipped into them and said they were outstanding and I should have tried. Although you may notice the prices are a little higher than other places, you certainly get good value for your investment 😉 The portions are large and the taste is mind blowing. We didn't have room for dessert, even though we wanted to. I ended up taking some of the beef home and snacking on it, it's even great when its cold. Id certainly recommend this place as a top notch restaurant, it's worth every penny 😀
A top tier establishment and meal. The staff were outstanding, very attentive. They were very understanding and careful with a nut allergy which is always appreciated. The wine selection is delightful. Setting is charming and very snug for a winter roast. Food was also exceptional. I really appreciate the charity and sustainability efforts made too.
When my sister came to visit me in London, we decided to try the roast dinner at a recommended pub. Despite a longer-than-expected wait due to their busyness, we understood. The staff, who seemed to be the owner or manager, informed us that they had run out of pork meat and were cooking a fresh batch just for my sister, which further extended our wait. I didn't complain, as it was a reasonable delay. The staff kindly apologized and offered us some bread, which we gratefully accepted, given our hunger. We finally received our meals around 9 pm. To our surprise, when I asked for the bill, we were only charged for drinks, not the food. I insisted on paying for the food, but they refused, so we left a generous tip. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making our roast dinner experience enjoyable. My sister loved the food, and I'll definitely recommend this place to others and plan to return soon.
Brilliant roast! Loved the potatoes, the cauliflower mash and generous serving of gravy that accompanied the beef and lamb roasts. Really loved the sticky toffee pudding that came with a generous serving of toffee sauce. Service could be improved as it didn’t seem overly busy in our area but we had to flag the servers down multiple times.
