Is it worth the high price tag? Maybe ... This hotel is located in a good location, in a beautiful building, and the staff are really lovely. The rooms themselves are really nice and were clearly decorated to a high standard once upon a time. However, for the price, I was expecting some more facilties like a mini fridge. The bathroom is also really nice and decorated to a high standard. However, I am not keen on clouded glass doors dividing the rooms. Sadly, I could have also had a better shower standing in the rain outside with the lack of water pressure ... Even though everything was initially decorated really well, they really needed to do some upkeep as it was a bit tatty in areas of the room. The basic breakfast was quite disappointing, so I upgraded ... for which was really nice and cooked very well, but not worth the £25 upgrade price. Would I return ... they really need to have a look and compare themselves to NYX, for which is my favourite hotel in Holborn. That is the level Malmaison should be at for the price tag they set. The biggest positive though ... this was the best sleep I have ever had in any hotel, as their beds are just so comfortable, and this easily tips the balance for me.
Stayed in a fee Malmaison hotels this the best one for number of reasons. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Good location about 25 - 30 minutes walk to trafalgar Square. Room was fantastic by far the best we have Stayed in makes a couple of others look a bit tatty and past their best.
Beautiful building outside, inside was inviting and comfortable. Stayed in club deluxe room and size was very good for London and good value. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. One star taken off room because bed was not actually a king size bed, was two singles pushed together.
Decent rooms, was actually relatively cheap (for London) on the day I booked. Breakfast is merely ‘OK’ and not worth the high price. British hotels even middle / upmarket ones like Malmaison seem to be skimping on breakfast quality whilst simultaneously screwing up the price £25… Love this part of London. Lots to like about free parking in a bay just outside the hotel entrance.
Located adjacent to the park this is a very quiet hotel offering a comfortable stay. The reception area has a sophisticated and welcoming vibe, with the two lifts getting you to the accommodation floors quickly. Our room was on the second floor, and although the views over the adjacent buildings weren’t great it reminded silent throughout. The bed was a good size and comfortable, the desk practical and although no separate arm chair there were a couple of stools next to a coffee table. Good lighting options but only USB sockets next to the bed. The air-conditioning wasn’t the best but it was nice that both the windows could be opened for fresh air. The bathroom was huge with lots of storage space and a very spacious shower. Towels were decent enough, as were the provided toiletries. The decor made the room cosy and was more unique than standard hotels at a similar price point. I would certainly stay here again.
