The Tamil Prince offers a unique blend of pub and Indian restaurant vibes. From the thoughtful gesture of providing water for our friend's dog to the fusion of glamorous spice-infused cocktails, the experience was both delightful and tasteful. The authentic Indian cuisine, especially the vegetarian options, was a highlight. The small plates allowed our group to share and savor a variety of dishes, including okra fries, masala dosa, chole bathura, onion baji, paratha, and paneer curry. The pub-like interiors with wooden furnitures added to the cosy atmosphere. A distinctive dining spot worth revisiting.

I really cannot recommend this place enough. We went for lunch yesterday and ordered 2 small plates and 3 large plates. Every single dish was mouth watering. My top recommendation is the plate of lamb chops which are now the most delicious lamb chops I’ve ever tasted. I wish I had the recipe for it. All the other dishes were also worth raving about. I’m going to try their newest venture next which is The Tamil Crown.

Having heard a lot about this pub turned regional Indian kitchen, we decided to check it out as a group. Between the four of us, I think we tried almost everything on the menu except for the paneer and dal makhani. We felt that almost all the dishes were bold and flavorful, with the lamb chops, the prawn varuval and chicken curry being standouts. On the downside, the masala dosa stuffing wasn't exactly good, and all the dishes were rather small. They have an interesting selection of cocktails, but my Tamil Negroni was unremarkable. They have retained the pub like interiors, with a loud and boisterous conversation, scruffy tables and very dim lighting. All good, but the tables aren't too big and can easily get cramped.

Went there for lunch on a Saturday, with a booking in advance for a counter seat. I really like the concept of having small plates. For example, I love dosa's, but one (normal) dosa and I'm done. Here you can get a small dosa, with room to spare for the other tasty stuff that they have. The okra fries were nice and crispy, sure to please even okra skeptics. The onion bhaji are light. The dosa is a reasonable side, and the dal was excellent. One of my favorite things was the roti, which was nice and flakey --- make sure to get one per person (at least). The lamb curry was good, but it was one of the more flat dishes in terms of taste, it needed a tad more seasoning. The only nit that I have is that the food came a bit too fast; it would have been nice to wait until we've cleared some of the plates before coming with more. Service is definitely fast and attentive. We did have a booking, but if you're only one or two people, and are willing to sit by the bar, you would have been able to walk-in when we were there (Saturday at 1pm). Vegetarian and gluten-free friendly.

the rave reviews are all true! Can't go wrong here- food, prices and service were all spot on. South Indian joint with some north Indian dishes thrown in too : the Bhature were huge 😳
