The food was delicious as always and I can 100% recommend the lamb roast on a Sunday. The waitress however wasn’t up to the normal standard, got both of my drink orders incorrect and they had to be sent back. My friend also had to check about the second round of drinks as it took a while. The atmosphere was okay, we were sat right at the toilet which was slightly colder and a couple of crying babies/small children were around. Next time would like to sit closer to the bar again as that seems to be less loud. If you’re into a good roast, I’d 100% recommend it though and the stuff who runs the front is amazing and very welcoming.
I had an incredible experience at The Londesborough! Wow, everything was amazing – the best Sunday roast I’ve ever had. The venison scotch egg was truly one of a kind, and the Bloody Mary was exceptional. Always room for the apple crumble – so light and delicious. The staff is wonderful, the place is very clean, and every bite was tasty. Highly recommend! Thank you guys!
Outstanding service. I came here after waiting at the front of the bar at Clissold Park Tavern for 15 minutes with no acknowledgement. Walked up to the bar here, bloke asked if I was waiting (grateful for the proof i'm not invisible) and said he'd be with me in a moment. Got served shortly after, happy days. They're flat out here on a Sunday afternoon (when I visited) but the atmosphere is great and the staff are outstanding. My first visit and I will definitely be back. Edit: fella who served me had long hair and definitely plays an instrument. Didn't get his name but for every round of drinks we got, when I got to the bar he asked if I was waiting and served me as soon as it was my turn / as soon as he was able. Good bartender.
We had our wedding at the Londesborough last month, and we cannot express enough what an absolutely magical and unforgettable experience it was. From the moment we chose the Londesborough as our wedding venue, the team went above and beyond, we were amazed at the expertise, attention to detail, and unwavering dedication the team had throughout. We can honestly say the planning of the event was stress free and enjoyable, and a huge part of that credit goes to Amber and Greg! On the day itself, from the moment we walked in we were greeted with a friendly and attentive team who went out of their way to ensure every guest felt welcomed and comfortable. The food was outstanding, by far the best food we’ve had at a wedding and our guests are still raving about it, it’s clear that the chefs take pride in their work! The bar service was top-notch, with a wide selection of drinks ranging from beers on draft to delicious margaritas. After our meals and speeches, we had a live band followed by 3 hours of none stop dancing thanks to DJ Catfight. His music selection was spot on and kept the energy high throughout the night. Everyone from the youngest to the oldest had a blast on the dance floor thanks to him! The pub’s cozy atmosphere and beautiful garden created the perfect backdrop for an elegant, relaxed, and beautiful celebration. The day was meticulously orchestrated, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We highly recommend the Londesborough to anyone considering them for their special day. The Shakespeare is an honest-to-goodness proper pub. Located slap bang in the middle of Stoke Newington it stands proudly unaffected by the passing of time, with traditional interiors that have been lovingly maintained.
