Our dog-friendly pub is proud to have been the heart of the community since 1923, where our neighbourhood comes together to enjoy everything our pub has to offer. From guest ales to craft beers, our team is on hand to pull you the perfect pint. Not to mention our impressive collection of fine wines and premium spirits. Our nostalgic menu will transport you back to when the entire family was gathered around enjoying mum’s home-cooked meal and a classic Roly Poly for dessert!.
The BEST roast in the area! We will always return here when visiting Greenwich or Blackheath because the roasts are just too good to miss out on! And if you don’t fancy that then try the fish & chips- but be prepared for a giant portion! This is the loveliest place, we’ve been here for a number of special occasions and the staff and other diners are always super lovely and friendly- creating the best atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they always make our visit memorable. Thank you so much to everyone at Richard the 1st- your efforts do not go unnoticed and make a huge difference to your customers. We were here on 31st December and again had the best time!
Enjoyed a really lovely vegetarian roast dinner here last Sunday. The roast potatoes were perfectly roasted, vegetables nicely cooked, huge Yorkshire pudding, nice veggie option and delicious side of cauliflower cheese! Staff very attentive and friendly. The seating area is a nice large space and is decorated very nicely. Please don’t change a thing! We will be back! :)
One of my favourite pubs around. Not been in for ages but super friendly staff... old boys gossiping, lovely well-priced beer (compared to my local in Cornwall). Food was great and again, well priced for top nosh. Look forward to a reason to pop in again soon!
The food was very good and tasty. The prices were reasonable and the service quick. There were quite a few options for vegetarians and vegans. Check out this place if you are in the area.
Great pub with excellent outdoor dining space. We ate here 3 times this week and were never disappointed. The service and food were excellent. We enjoyed chatting with the locals too. Really great place.
