You will find The Old Bell Tavern in Fleet Street London within a short stroll of Farringdon Street, City Thameslink and Ludgate Hill - however you won't find another like it.
Step in to discover a traditional pub of unique character, revered for its eclectic range of real ales and its quality pub food, which are served, as they should be, with a generous measure of famous British hospitality.
The Old Bell Tavern has a long history, having been a licensed tavern for more than 300 years. Built by Sir Christopher Wren, it housed his masons who were rebuilding St Bride's Church after the Great Fire. Originally we could only be reached via an alleyway from Fleet Street and as such we have a long association with printing. One of the first printing presses operated here around 1500.
The Old Bell Tavern is one of many rare gems in the Nicholson's collection of great British pubs, reputed for their distinctive buildings, intriguing history and vibrant atmosphere.

One of my favourite pubs. Built by Sir Christopher Wren, and I believe his stonemasons stayed here for the building of St Paul's cathedral. Great ambiance. In such a great area. A must visit, trust me
Old fashioned bar, with a decent good beer selection and a cosy atmosphere. As a true London pub should be!
Historic pub that probably gets less recognition than some of it's more storied rivals in the vicinity. The comfortably furnished layout creates various more intimate areas that together with genuine features such as fireplaces, provide an excellent ambience. They offer a range of hand pumps as well as the ubiquitous "fizzy" beers and a none too shabby selection of whiskies. Service is friendly and efficient. They have a good offering of classic pub food, including real pies, rather than just a pastry lid on a ceramic dish. We came for a couple of pints as a part of a pub crawl, but ended up staying all afternoon, that says it all really!
The Old Bell close to Blackfriars and St. Paul's was a wonderful find. It was a really hot day when I visited, what a relief to be in a well airconditioned pub! It's a very nice, atmospheric and historical place. The staff were friendly and my chicken burger and chips were simply delicious!
Stopped in for a pint. 5£ for a Timothy Taylor’s. Comes in a nice pint glass. Menu and food coming out of the kitchen looks good. Solid spot for a quick bite or a beer. Nice atmosphere!
