A warm welcome to Lochboisdale Hotel on the beautiful island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides. Calum, Karen MacAulay and their family run the hotel, situated at the ferry terminal in Lochboisdale overlooking the bay with splendid views across to Canna and Rhum.
Built in the late 1800’s the hotel is full of character and has a homely atmosphere. We have 15 rooms, 5 single, 5 twin and 4 double including one family room that will comfortably sleep a family of 5 and 1 premier king size room ideal for honeymooners. All of the rooms have en-suite facilities and all but three rooms have views across the bay. Lochboisdale Hotel has a warm and friendly welcome with staff who are there to make your stay a memorable one. Feel at home by the peat fire, soak up the gaelic atmosphere and enjoy amazing views on three sides of the hotel. The hotel is a great base to explore the raw beauty of the island, a great place to relax and recharge your batteries.
Stopped over before getting the ferry to Uist. Great view from the room. Hearty breakfast with friendly chat to boot. Bed so comfortable we will get one ourselves. LOL.
Rooms dated for price. But apart from that food staff and scenes of beautiful views amazing. Beautiful scenery good place to discover the island. 8 out of 10 from me.
The hotel is in a nice location with beautiful views. But the hotel itself is very tired and desperately needs some work. There are signs of damp in places and the decor in my room was not good. But, the room was clean and the staff were friendly. The food was also very good.
Loved this hotel. I didn't stay there, only visited for a drink so couldn't rate the rooms or food, although it smelt delicious. The hotel was a little run down but made up for it with the friendly service and the cosy lounge. Dining area looked lovely, well organised in a conservatory.
I called to this hotel for coffee while cycling in the area. Lovely coffee very reasonably priced l called later that evening for some drinks. Very friendly staff. I asked about getting my ebike battery recharged no problem l picked it up next morning fully recharged and free. I had a lovely Scottish breakfast reasonably priced.I highly recommend this hotel with it's brilliant location and friendly atmosphere
