Fresh British food from the field & the shore to the kitchen & the bar
With a long history of revitalising customers and providing respite for weary travellers and locals alike (since 1792), under the direction of Agostinho Faria, we are proud to be the next chapter in the story of The Livesey Arms.
Having undergone a total revamp lifting this ancient inn into the 21st century, renovations have included a state-of-the-art kitchen, more dining space and open fires for snug autumn evenings.
Went for our Christmas get-together as we had been for Sunday lunch a few weeks previously. Outstanding!! Great food and service.
A wonderfully cosy place to visit on a cold winter's day. We enjoyed a family lunch in the bar area. The salmon was delicious, as was the leek and potato pie. I didn't get to try the fish and chips but they looked super and they were well enjoyed. Many thanks to the staff for a warm and friendly welcome, and great service. We hope to visit again soon!
First time here and will be back. Food was delicious especially trout entree. Halibut perfectly cooked. Now second time this week and consistently outstanding.
it’s a very simple looking pub from the outside, but delivers a punches on the inside with the things you’re looking for in a good pub with extremely nice food. We were a party of 11 and the pub was very busy at 7 pm doing other meals and they coped with us perfectly. The food was delicious. No complaints from our party at all. Service was polite and prompt. I didn’t take much notice of the other atmosphere of the pub because we were enjoying ourselves too much !! choice of wines were plentiful, and we have all said that we would definitely go back for more ♥️ apparently it has a fantastic reputation for a really good Sunday lunch!!
What a gem! We stumbled across this beautiful village pub whilst searching Google and we were very pleased we did. From the wonderful village setting, to the well thought out design and decoration, this is a wonderful location for dinner. And what a dinner it was! Wow. This is possibly one of the best meals we’ve had. It was sublime. The pork belly was melt in the mouth and the goats cheese bon bons were heavenly. This is far more than a village pub! The building has some great history which has many ‘doths of the cap’ inside. Seating outside helps you feel like you’re one of the locals. And the signage and pictures show a good sense of humour from the owner, too. The staff were attentive and friendly and catered to our dietary requirements well. If we lived nearby we’d make sure this was our special treat more often. Highly recommend. We’re so glad we stumbled across it!
