It is very much a village local run by a landlord who has presided since 1991. It consists of a public bar with pool area, plus a lounge which doubles as a dining room.
The bar has a log burner and the lounge an open fire. The village has no Sunday newspaper deliveries, so the enterprising landlord arranges for them to be on sale at the pub. And if one so wishes they can be read with the breakfast which is available between 9am and 11am. And the catering doesn't stop there, as takeaway meals are a popular attraction. Another contribution to the community is the Bingo nights that raise money for charities. It was once a part of the large local estate of the Shrewsbury & Wem Brewery.
