Service was terrible brought 2 mains before people who had ordered starters. Also the seating was not very good. 2 seats had back to a curtain nothing behind this curtain someone could of quote easily fell backwards when pushing chair back. Not very health and safety. Have to say food was delicious when it finally arrived. The management did take the price of the 2 starters. Which was fair considering the time we waited.
Enjoyed Christmas lunch here today. Second Christmas lunch this year.First one was in a different Northumberland pub.No comparison though the other pub was more expensive. Really nice choices . Good atmosphere. Good fresh food. Excellent friendly service from Giorgia. Well done. Highly recommend. Will be back.
A fantastic country pub great food good beer and very friendly staff. The porsions are of good size and good quality, If you were going for Sunday lunch it would be advisable to book as they get very busy and have to turn people away. The views from the garden across the Tyne valley are spectacular they have a good size beer garden with play area for the children. This year's Christmas menu starts from December
This pub will not disappoint on any level! We have just enjoyed Sunday lunch, it was amazing! Beef that melted in the mouth, lovely crispy potatoes, great gravy, nice choice of veg and the crumble was gorgeous! The service was polite, efficient and friendly. Obviously a great team as so nice to hear the banter between them at the end of service. Lovely pub, great history and fab location! Well worth a visit! We will definitely be back for another Sunday lunch but also to try the other menus! Thank you! PS the custard was yummy 😋
A gem of a restaurant hidden in plain sight. Excellent friendly service, good selection of interesting ales in addition to standard casks. An interesting menu, excellent quality ingredients that speak for themselves and generous portions. The place has a lovely ambience and is well worth a detour. I’ll definitely be visiting again. Second Visit: 18/3/23 Service was just as friendly and food excellent quality. Highly recommended
