We travelled from North Wales for over 7 hours on Friday, Dec 1st, 2023. The room was clean but not very warm. On Saturday morning my husband went for a shower and there wasn't any hot water. We went for breakfast which was lovely. We had a family birthday on Saturday night. By then the hot water had been fixed. It was luke warm in the room. Saturday, 2nd was an extremely cold day with temperatures under freezing. When we returned to the room there was no heating on. It was absolutely freezing. I couldn't sleep for hours. For the price We paid for our room it was not good enough. My husband wnt to the bar to complain and he was told that we would be moved to another room and refunded for the night. I later went to confirm this and it was repeated to me. We moved room and this one was warm. I had a word with the owner on Monday morning before we left and told him about their promise of a refund. I received an email to review our experience so before doing that I asked Sophie about their promise but she said that no one had any knowledge about this. How disappointing. To lie on top of their inferior room! We had stayed there twice before. This experience is not one we will want to repeat. Beware all
Ordered the posh fish finger sandwich. A) it was a roll, B) the fish fingers were not. They were odd bits of fish over battered and greatly over cooked. Would not use this place again. The staff however are fantastic, friendly, professional and the best part of the place
I never leave reviews but am now forced to do so due to the quality of the food. You won’t find a better beef roast in the world on a Sunday. End of debate. If I was a dying man this would be my last meal. The chefs should be indicted by Yorkshire for treason. The beef melts in your mouth and the veg tastes so fresh it feels like they were foraged for this individual meal. Don’t be put off by the obscurity of “Long Sutton”. It’s worth the detour from Edinburgh! Just get here and experience it. Everywhere else is just an imposter. If you disagree you won’t after you try it. Your welcome.
We visited on the off chance they had a table, the food was amazing and a great selection of ales. The menu makes you really think about what to have but a fantastic selection of dishes, and the services from ALL the staff was incredibly friendly. If you’re thinking of visiting, don’t hesitate! You won’t be disappointed
Went here this evening (Tuesday) for burgers. Absolutely outstanding in every way! Great food, service, couldn’t fault it. The weekday and weekend menus looked great too. You can build a burger from various options which is great, so much variety & all delicious, cooked perfectly and home made. We will be back!
