About us

Who doesn't love to sit and relax in a lovely, old, traditional, quaint pub?! Maybe you've finished work for the day and enjoy a pint or two on your way home; or perhaps you fancy a quick bite to eat a lunch time. Maybe you enjoy a night out sampling some local gins, local vodka or our famous house ale - Tipsy Toad. Or perhaps you enjoy some good wines - look no further we've got you covered!

Country Pub in a Town

Our setting is a must to visit. A 16th century pub, one of the oldest buildings in the town of Louth and located at the foot of St James Spire. It boasts original fire places in all three bars, which you will find roaring when the temperature start to drop and the nights start to draw in

Quiz Night

This little gem of a place wouldn't be complete without a quiz night. Whilst the quiz is currently on hold whilst we find our feet after reopening they will be making a return in the near future on a Sunday evening.

A friendly service can be hit or miss depending who you get but it's a nice pub with good ale.

Beautiful old pub situated very close to St. James's Church at the heart of Louth Town. Greeted by friendly staff & open fires. This is a wonderful retreat in the winter months. Equally in the summer, the wonderful views of the Spire from the outside terrace lend to a refreshing, enjoyable & laid back experience backed up by the occasional organised event. Often, food is provided for by pop-up catering Indian, Italian & Greek cuisine being included. The general lunch menu includes rare roast beef sandwiches, which are delightful. The pub has its own brew known as The Tipsy Toad & is a good beer. The beer is very well kept, too. I highly recommend this public house to any visitors to Louth & as a resident, it is personally one of my go-to public houses.

Basic simple tasty food along with a good selection of well kept real beers. Nice sunny autumn day outside. Freezing cold inside, no fire or heating of any kind would have stayed longer (and spent more!) Nice pleasant staff. Just b@#&$y cold

Love the Weatsheaf. Great to spend an afternoon in the beer garden when the sun is out. Cosy and warm in the winter thanks to three roaring fires. Good for a quick pint after work because of the decent sized carpark. Beer and food is always good and the owners and regulars are welcoming.
