About us

Whether it is a family celebration or a friendly pint with your mates you will find the Bull an extremely hospitable place. Many of our customers live in the village while others travel several miles to see us.

There is something for everybody; from great value to brilliant choices from around the world, premium specials and from Sky Sports to regular live music events. The family Sunday Carvery continues to be hugely popular, and we now offer a daily lunchtime carvery. Our chefs produce many homemade dishes and keep the specials board filled with exciting new meals.

Our cask ales have grown in popularity and we now have 3 on sale permanently, including a local beer from Lincolnshire brewer, Oldershaw. Other regular beers include Bombardier and Black Sheep Bitter.

Food, service, and atmosphere was good, and we weren't waiting long for our meals. The only downside for me was I had to order food and drink at the bar, and the place could do with a bit of a makeover in the future but will definitely go back because the food, service and atmosphere it what matters thanks to all the staff šŸ˜€ šŸ‘ value for money šŸ’°

Lovely pub, met family & enjoyed food. Have eaten many times. Lovely food, nicely presented. Nice menu reasonable prices & a fabulous carvery. Spacious dining area & outside tables too. Large carpark, definitely well worth a visit.

Visited for lunch. The menu looked promising however unfortunately that promise was unfulfilled. I ordered Nachos for a shared starter and a Chicken ā€˜Sizzlerā€™(otherwise known as Fajitas). Possibly two of the easiest dishes to prepare that have ever found their way onto a pub menu. Bad choice - Iā€™m not sure how it is possible to get nachos wrong but they managed it here. Perhaps it was the way that the chips, cheese AND the Salsa were thrown together and then nuked, I suspect in a microwave but possibly they did use the oven. Result - soggy chips and a sloppy mess served without any Guacomole because they had run out ā€¦ but the kitchen did not tell the server so no apology. Next the Chicken Sizzler. Now Iā€™m not a chef but I know this dish is normally cooked by griddling the chopped veg until they are just cooked, sometimes slightly charred. Iā€™m not sure the veg in this dish ever went anywhere near a griddle or similar. My guess is that the was simply heated in a microwave and then topped with microwaved chicken pieces that had been supplied pre-cooked complete with ā€˜fakeā€™ char-grill lines. To be fair the chicken was OK but the veg was limp, tasteless and was served swimming in an oily, watery liquid (see photo). How is it possible to make such a mess of what is a simple dish? I was later told that the peppers are supplied pre-sliced; maybe knives are not allowed in that kitchen, I suspect the disgusting liquid they were served in was in the plastic bag they were delivered in. Quite frankly the Nachos and the Sizzler were the worst examples of these dishes I have ever been served with. My Mumā€™s scampi and chips looked OK but the Scampi was absolutely scolding inside ā€¦.. I suspect the good old microwave may have been pushed into action again. Good points, at least it was open on a Monday lunchtime, my Latte was OK, and the staff were all friendly. We wonā€™t however be going back.

Large fish and chips Ā£9.99 on Friday. Large fish and chips, mushy peas , tartare sauce, Ā£9.99 on a Friday, Total Bargain. Other party members had Veggie Burger (nice and with proper ā€˜home madeā€™ onion rings). And mixed grill, which was huge and good value for money. The Bull delivers good value Pub Grub, excellent beers and lagers, free parking. Also the ā€˜Stolen Fridaysā€™ performed as well during the Halloween Party, all for free, brilliant - we go every year. Well done and keep it up.

Called in for tea at 6 on Saturday evening . There was 8 of us . There were a few big groups in one of 16 and one of 8 , then many smaller tables . We didnā€™t have to wait too long for our food which was all very tasty . I had the chicken sizzler with Jacket potato which was delicious. Others had Lasagne , Cajun Chicken breast , Ribs and Chicken Dianne , all cooked well and plenty of food . The home cooked chips were lovely, fresh and crispy . Credit to the Chef Sarah , and Ellie the lovely waitress who worked really hard
