Great place for a stopover enroute to somewhere... Nice cosy rooms perhaps a bit dated but this is a coaching Inn not Premier Inn!! Super meal in the restaurant that was surprisingly busy and to finish off, one of the best breakfasts I had had in any hotel for a long time, many thanks for making us welcome

Firstly I have eaten here before BUT today …I asked for ice with my drink I was told they have ice don’t get it . The starters pate thinly sliced the toast was like door stops no taste to the pate the prawn tart the size of the palm of your hand was served on a large plate no salad no bread. The beer from the pumps was cloudy . The side order of onion rings was full of oil. The owner had visitors in with their children and whilst having a conversation with them they are walking up and down looking at empty tables their children are running around chucking balls and we are trying to eat. The staff were sitting having their lunch or chewing gum looking at you like you were a nuisance for being there .price for the meal is not value when their are other places near to eat . We won’t be rushing back there .

Wrote a great review a year ago, I've been back 3 times and it just gets worse. Booked a table for xmas eve and arrived, staff were rude, i actually mistakenly thought 1 chap was a customer as he barged past us? Ordered burgers, told they had no buns? Asked if we could have burgers with just bread, told the burgers had all been frozen? Took 10 minutes to choose an alternative to be told most of the menu was unavailable. We left and drove to Burger King, had a great burger, brilliant service and everyone was happy. Please get back to how it was, it's a lovely location, great building and worth investing in the staff.

Just had the most delicious Sunday lunch here. Everything about the Redlion at Redbourne is warm and cosy. Lovely decor, great service and the Sunday lunch was fantastic. Beef was perfectly cooked with lovely roasted veg and a fantastic home made Yorkshire pudding on top. Really great value at £18.95 for 2 courses. Highly reccomend

The rooms at the Red lion could do with renovation. Not quite as described. Very noisy and not clean. The food I don't understand how it has gotten such good reviews. I ate in the restaurant twice and was extremely disappointed both times with the quality and the warmth of the food. The staff were on the most uninterested bar one or two. I was shocked after seeing most of the reviews were positive. Won't be going back.
