Good hotel. We really enjoyed our Christmas holiday. Clean, comfortable beds; spacious restaurants, lounges and bars; tasty food; good-sized portions: friendly, hard-working staff. Plenty of parking Reasonable prices! The big problem is getting there. The hotel said they are used to people having to stay longer/shorter due to travel upsets. The only airline has apparently reverted to propeller planes rather than improve the runway for jets. We heard that people from the hotel waited all day at the airport before being told their flight was cancelled. Our Condor Ferry departure to Guernsey was delayed over 2 hours. After Christmas Condor cancelled nearly all crossings because most of their boats are only suitable for calm weather. We had to leave a day early on an overnight ferry where people were sleeping on the floor.
A very nice hotel with good facilities. Breakfast was outstanding, as was the evening meal and drinks. Checkout was slightly amiss; with house keeping outside from 9am making quite a lot of noise; it felt almost as if I was being reminded to leave! I'd probably stay again but have a later checkout requested or the like!
Not been there for a while at least since it was refurbed. Friendly staff. Good Food reasonably priced. Downside was lack of parking as the car park was full of tree surgeon equipment and bits of tree They could have moved the gear out for the evening guests. Short term issue though while trees were being cut
Not sure about the superior rooms being superior. Were standard in other hotels I have stayed in. Front superior rooms look over the carpark and a busy road so the noise level is very high throughput the night. Restaurant food was very good but the service was slow and got our order wrong twice. Restaurant should be ready available to guest . Could only get in once in five days and decided to check out a day early from the hotel. Location is ok. It's a bit of a walk to the port .
This was probably one of my favourite hotels I've stayed in for a while. And that's even despite the fire alarm going off accidently at silly o'clock one morning. The breakfasts was slow, but food was outstanding and totally worth the wait! Thank you.
