Ladies that run it are spot on and very welcoming, will do anything for you & very jovial. Place is comfortable n warm , used to be a member many moons ago but have registered for a membership as liked it that much.
Excellent rooms to hire for private functions relaxing atmosphere particularly like the blue room, friendly efficient staff. Would recommend
Only gave 1 star because it’s not possible to give 0 stars. Attended for the coronation. This was an absolute joke. The lager was lousy. The sound from the TV wasn’t loud enough. Then the family from hell came in, absolutely no interest in the coronation, didn’t look at the screen once from what I saw. Their tribe of kids ran around shouting and managed to ruin the coronation for everyone else. They were 1st in the queue for free food though 🤔. We left before the end and before the free food officially started because we couldn’t stand the noise anymore. Worth noting, a playground is for kids to run around shouting, not a pub. Thanks Royal British Legion for ruining what might be a once in a lifetime experience.

Had a surprise 40th party at the upstairs of the venue paid £120 for the use of the room and a £50 deposit for any breakages or damages. After the party on the next morning I cleaned up most of the room only leaving the gold discs out of some popped balloons on the floor amd stage. I'm now told that because there cleaners had to hover I won't be getting the deposit back. The manager is rude and argumentative. The card machine wasn't working so my guests had to keep going down to the normal bar to get drinks which happened at another party I attended there a month before. I was told I could turn up a 5pm to set up for the party yet the staff when I got there didn't have a clue. Stay well clear for giving your money to this place.
