Great atmosphere, real log burners ...cosy is the word! Thai food is fresh and flavoursome.
Good to see the place open again. Somewhat restricted menu, good Thai food. Too many tables crammed in, not allowing any room at the bar. Children sitting at the bar.
We recently visited the Thai kitchen at the Bewick arms. The food was amazing! With lovely authentic flavours. The pub itself was cosy clean and a nice place to go for a relaxing evening dinner. The service was brilliant friendly staff and the food came out very quick. I would definitely recommend this place it was an amazing authentic experience!
Been waiting for a long time for this pub to re open, but visited four times since re opened, twice before started serving food. Sorry I drink bitter, how can a village pub open without a draught bitter on offer, bottled or gassed beer, not acceptable for such a pub, the local “bitter drinkers” to have to drink elsewhere and must be very disappointed, as now NO pub open in the village serving a bitter, since the Fox closed. Loud music in most rooms is not in keeping with such a village pub, I feel. We all want this establishment to do well, I returned recently in the hope that logic might have kicked in and put things right. I booked in for some food to try out as a last resort, at the time in advance of visit asked about bitter and beer on offer after previously been so disappointed, and was told beer (bitter) was now available, but turned out to be John Smiths bitter and Theakstones mild, both served through gased chilled pipes, The food experience, was strange as a “soft launch menu” and should have impressed but was disappointing, The Thia Green & Red curry we had seemed to be more of a soup in appearance and watery consistency. Sorry after four visits will not be going back, a shame really, as the property was refurbished & decorated well, looked to be a quality pub serving Thia food in a popular village, in a great location, which I believed should have been the makings of a successful concept. But needs a good True draught bitter, upgraded food, limited music, not all rooms or so loud. But seems to me this establishment wants to give a city night club appearance with the offering of music and style of drinks on offer. I very much wish the owners a success, as the locals deserve it.
Newly opened, and wanted to leave a reveiw to ensure people are aware that this lovely pub is now open for drinks. We'd not been in the pub previously but it looks to have been sympathetically renovated and it's beautiful building so I'm happy to see it back in use. I believe the food menu is due in September. Quick shout out to the friendly locals (Patrick and Joe) who we could have spent the rest of the day chatting to, but we still had serveral miles to walk!
