Not too far from the beaten track but far enough to escape the madness. Really quaint building in a lovely village. Started with a caramel cappuccino as good as any costa or starbucks. We tried the Sunday menu, which isn't huge but is filled with delicious offerings. I had the turkey roast dinner, which was really tasty. The veg was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. The Yorkshire pudding was crispy and full of traditional homemade gravy and the turkey was generously portioned and sitting on a bed of creamy mash and roasted potatoes. Great views accross a lovely part of South Leicestershire. My advice would be to book ahead to avoid disappointment. We will definitely be back soon. Thanks guys you knock the ball out of the park. X
Average pub trying to do everything. Food average and very expensive for quality. Staff are the only real redeeming feature. Ales and drinks hardly inspiring like the interior decoration. Probably great on a Summers day when you can utilise the beer garden.
Nice pub. Restaurant and bar. Outside area for warmer days. Narrowboaters welcome. Close to the canal. Good food and drinks. Friendly service. We will be back!
We had a lovely lunch on the patio in the sun, great food, well kept gardens and good value for money. Just a stone’s throw from the tow path by the canal, you can walk to Foxton Locks in 20 mins. We would definitely return.
We had a pint each and the pie of the day meal. Pie was well worth it . Would had preferred fresh vegetables not frozen peas as they only option. Over all we where both very full . Price was very reasonable Serving staff was lovely . Took the opportunity to leave the car and walk along footpath to see the locks . Would I come back. yes . It's a nice setting and I bet in the summer its gorgeous.
