A lovely warm welcome in a superb setting. Not stayed in the rooms, just visited for a drink.
Passed this hotel many times and said we must go in one day. So this time we did. Just for a coffee but it is lovely. A grand old house in immaculate condition. Friendly host made our coffee and cut us a lovely slice of cake. Definitely recommend this hotel for a short stop and really look forward to a longer stay. Although out in the country it's ideally situated for travelling West,North, South or East.
A very friendly welcome, squashy arm chairs and the best ever tea and cake provided for 2 very tired walkers who had spent a night on the hill. True Highland hospitality, we intend to follow the sentiment " haste ye back". 😀
Beautiful location. Very nice accommodations. Classice sporting estate lodge feel complete with a nice whisky collection, and historical stag mounts. Lots of space to relax and feel comfortable. Cozy quite location. Beautiful attention to details. Warm and inviting. Only two issues. First, there was no cook so dinner was not available. The shower in our room was dreadfully slow but the water was hot so plan a little longer for the shower time. Other than that, u would gladly recommend a stay and would visit again.
We contacted the hotel about an afternoon tea it was before it opens for the season but we only visit the area once a year and absolutely love our visit to the hotel. It is a classic Scottish hotel that is very unique and beautiful. I can honestly say it is one of my favourite places. As we arrived the fire was lit and the room ready - Within our party there were two dairy free people which was totally catered for and everything was made so they did not miss out. Being an older person I have had allot of afternoon teas and this is by far the best one. Not only did we have allot of sandwiches with the best slices of meat but mini prawn cocktails, fruit on skewers, followed by an array of delicious cakes, scones, mini apple crumbles which were still warm. There was endless pots of tea and more food than we could possibly eat. This was so reasonable - I have paid double for afternoon tea and not had half as much we will definitely be back. I cannot sing Craig’s praises enough he made the whole experience amazing- we were showed around a few rooms to organise a visit which was outstanding the rooms are to the highest standard and a real treat for a visit. I understand that the hotel can be booked out of season for families/ large groups with the ballroom and access to a large kitchen this is definitely something we will look into. It’s very accessible for all types of people- the car park is very large and there is even a train stop opposite the hotel. The scenery is outstanding- and plentiful of walks if you love the outdoors or even just appreciating it then you will not be disappointed We emailed the hotel a few times and was always replied to within 24hrs I was very impressed with the service Thank you for our visit we will still be talking about it when we visit next year
