Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere. Will definitely make a return visit.
Nice pub, but charging way too much for the quality of food. Was average bog standard pub food at quality restaurant prices. i had chicken wings for starters and the flavour was great but they were the consistency of much, you wouldn't think they were chicken. I then had the steak for main which was cooked well (medium rare) but looked and felt exactly like a weather spoons steak; tough and chewy but tastey none the less. We arnt slow eaters but the meal took around 2.5hours with starters and desserts, felt as if we were sat waiting around waiting for service for the majority. Not worth going back to.
Been here for Sunday lunch a while ago and it was lovely. Also had a works Christmas party here and it was nice and service was good. Went for a meal early evening and had a table booked for 3.15pm and waited until 3.45pm before someone came to take our orders after WE approached a member of staff to let them know we were ready to order Starters arrived at 4.20pm Had the king prawns for starters which were on the same level as Aldi’s tempura frozen prawns. My husband had scollops which were lukewarm. I had fillet steak that was £29 and not much bigger than a meatball and not very hot. Fries were tasty and hot but no different to McDonald’s. My husband had the scampi which he said was tasteless. The presentation of both main meals was none existent. No one came to ask if everything was okay with the meal or to ask if we would like any more drinks. I ordered a cocktail and they didn’t have the ingredients that was needed however the bar staff came to give me an alternative and he made me a lovely cocktail and came to ask if it was okay so he has my 5 * vote for service and the lovely cocktail. First time in years I’ve been disappointed with a meal and there wasn’t much change out of £100 for 2 people for tea , 2 pints & 1 cocktail. Sorella’s food lovely, service is 1st class and by far better value for money. Definitely room for improvement if you want repeat business. Sorry if this sounds a little harsh but the idea of reviews is to give an honest opinion.
Lovely pub with great food and really nice atmosphere. Have visited the Waggon a few times and has always been reliable. Not the cheapest, but worth every penny as the food, service and surroundings are spot on 👌 Would highly recommend to anyone in the Uppermill area. Great for a Sunday Roast!
Really nice pub, with a good atmosphere and very friendly staff. I am so impressed that they have a vegan menu and clearly list which of their wines are vegan. I love this inclusive and progressive approach, which many other pubs/restaurants haven’t even considered. I will definitely be coming here again.
