Stopped off here on the way home from a hard morning's walk in the dales. We were a group of 4 middle aged truckers on a day off. I was starving and wasn't bothered about anything so long as it was edible. I had a cheese burger from the "light bites" section of the menu. It was ample and GORGEOUS! Followed up with cheesecake, again it was lovely. All the food was really reasonably priced and the staff were really nice, friendly and you can have a laugh with them. For an unexpected stop I really recommend it. Ideal last stop before the motorway. Thanks and well done 👍👍

Excellent food, good portion sizes. Cheese and onion pie was one of the best I've ever had. Staff and atmosphere was very pleasant, will definitely be back.

Great little pub with very good food! Had the Buddha bowl and was very happy with it. Good selection of items on the menu, something to please everyone.

Visited on Wednesday evening for some early tea.. Asked for a table for 2 at the bar and shortly were directed to our table, the young gentlemen took our drinks order and said would be back shortly. However, another man came over to take our order, and unfortunately came across extremely rude and abrupt. We told him that weren’t quite decided on our mains yet to have the response ‘well you need to hurry up and decide now because we have a big group in shortly and the kitchen won’t make your food’.. Coming from a hospitality backgrounds our selves.. having a big table awaiting to order naturally backs the kitchen up, and we completely understood this. However, would suggest informing your guests this when seating. A smile wouldn’t hurt either. The younger staff were definitely more friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Apart from this, the food was ok. We had the mushroom stroganoff and chicken kebab.

Not been out for Sunday lunch for years, so as last day of holiday thought we'd treat ourselves. Never been here, heard good things. Went for the Sunday roast, I had beef and wifey had the butternut squash and beetroot Wellington. It was wonderful. Very tasty, very well cooked and very well presented. Really big portion. Staff were attentive and very pleasant. Well worth a visit and will go again.
