Big shout-out to Manager Matt at Toby Carvery for an incredible dining experience! His leadership shines through in the excellent service. Fantastic food. Thanks to Matt, every visit feels special. Truly outstanding. Definitely coming back again!
We arrived within 5 minutes of breakfast service finishing however our waitress elisha was extremely helpful ; ensuring we had everything we needed. She was friendly, helpful but not intrusive.
I have always enjoyed visiting this restaurant but the last 3 visits have been awful, and we won't be returning. There is never a full service of meat or fresh looking veg here anymore, and sadly the staff running the carvery really don't seem to care. When you decide to spend your hard earnt money in an establishment, you do have a certain expectation and a turkey that has hardly any meat on and has dried out from the length of time it's stood there isn't acceptable. We went at 5.30pm on a Wednesday and yes it was busy due to an offer they had on, but if you know this, be prepared. I have always chosen this Toby over other local carveries as it's the original & best, so sad it isn't anymore. The waitress who served us was lovely & on the ball, so I do give her 5 stars.
Good value as ever especially with the promotional offer. Booking was easy. Staff at the restaurant very pleasant. Meat portions were good. The only improvement possible would be to ensure vegetables/ gravies/sauces all remain available without having to wait for top ups to be brought out of the kitchen.
Don’t do Xmas dinners it was shockingly bad. The staff were lovely but not enough of them so the service was very slow if at all. Wasn’t made special even though it was Xmas day and not cheap. Starter was a joke stale slither of bread something in a plastics tub pickled something and a piece of satsuma 😂. Veg had a weird taste some things were undercooked, asked for cranberry sauce but gave up waiting for it to come out. Also waited 45 mins for desert which was actually nice.
