Went today for my partners birthday we pre ordered a buffet for 15 people. It was amazing. Well worth considering for a small get together.
We stopped at the Bonny Inn to break our journey from Yorkshire to the Midlands. What a lovely pub. Dog friendly, menu was catering for all diets and left taste buds tingling. Gnocchi were beautifully prepared, very tasty as was the duck salad. Portions are plentiful, you will be leaving stuffed and happy. Would definitely recommend.
We were actually supposed to stop elsewhere on our journey back from Yorkshire to Shropshire, but the other place was really busy. Their loss, but our gain by finding this gem of a place. On arrival the staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. Taking our drinks order they also got a bowl of water for our dog who typically drank it all in one go as if there was never going to be any water again. Not rushing us at all they came and took our food order and we continued to enjoy the atmosphere and admired the decor of the place - where we sat there was definitely a cycling theme going on but the whole place looked really tasteful throughout. Our food arrived and it was amazing. I went for the duck, chorizo salad with a side order of skinny fries (half went to the dog!). My wife had the gnocchi and she loved it. Not being too filling we left room for dessert with myself having the Eton mess and why wife having the lemon posset. Both were amazing and being light they didn’t leave us feeling uncomfortable. I finished with an americano coffee which was very pleasant and just finished everything off perfectly. Whilst not somewhere we would just be able to “pop into” as it is not local to us, it is certainly a place we will happily incorporate into our journey when we are next heading in that direction. Very highly recommended.
Fantastic vegan menu at this country pub and not just token dishes or salad but well thought out satisfying dishes. The mushroom pudding was the star for me but all the vegan options we tried between the four of us were scrumptious. Would definitely go back. Highly recommended for vegans as many places in the Ribble Valley have either hardly any choice or the dishes are inferior but expensive.
Great views over the Pendle Valley from this restaurant. Staff are friendly and happy to chat although it was quiet. Good menu - starter were fantastic but the fish pie was a little too dry for me as I prefer more sauce. Sadly no room for dessert. Would come again but I do prefer the sister restaurant for ambience and surroundings.
