I’m sorry to say this place is a disaster, would love it to be better as live nearby but for every step it takes forward it takes 5 steps back!! The food is mediocre at best (recently ordered mussels that could barely be called a started portion) but I’m afraid to say the worst thing about the place is the service both at the bar and restaurant. Totally inexperienced staff that seem abandoned by the management who are rarely seen. Popped in last night in the hope of an improvement just in time to see a table of 7 walk out due to the quality of starters and having to wait an hour for main courses that had still not arrived. This resulted in the chef bawling at the top of his voice at the staff, not conducive to a good atmosphere.
Extremely poor portion received for a cod (fish) dish. I think the portion size was actually smaller than my wife's cod starter!!!.. 2 tiny slices of sweet potato....2 tiny slices of potato and not much else. Cost of meal is in the chefs hourly rate and preparation time. To add a decent quantity is pennies in comparison. Seriously! The quality was good but the portion size...oh dear!! Enjoy the Ela Bhan but unfortunately won't ever eat there again .
Where else on a rugby watching binge can you eat food served by a Zombie while listening to a stream of 80's dance hits. Here, that's where! Brilliant place. Great food! Superb service! Nothing not to like.
Been visiting here many times over the years as the food and service are always good. Food and service was good today but Chef needs to remember customers can hear him whilst sitting. Our order arrived minus a side, the server apologised as their mistake and wouldn't charge for it. We said its ok dont worry about it but they brought it over and we could hear " remember to charge them we aren't a f^£king charity" nice. £29 for roast, brunch dish, soft drink and coffee.
Second time I have been here and always good food. Accompanied by friendly and efficient service. Decor throughout is welcoming and is a place which is good during the afternoon and at a night. Has a few tables outside which gets plenty of sun too. Recommended and not too far from the main Shawlands strip.
