With a bright courtyard at it’s centre, and situated by the sea on Hayling Island in Hampshire, Lakeside makes for a great seaside break. You’ll be bowled over by the warm, friendly atmosphere that captures the hearts of all who visit here. Meet and make friends at the central courtyard, friendly café or cosy bar at the heart of this charming village. Near the beautiful Arundel and its castle, or Portsmouth Harbour, there are plenty of days out to be had. As with any thriving village there is lots to do, from bars, nightly entertainment and dining, to pitch and putt, archery and indoor short mat bowls.
This is a good location, within walking distance of the beach. Sadly you can see the effects of rising costs. Rooms need the plumbing updating. Entertainment staff were fabulous, their show was better than the Saturday headline act (the band had not set their sound up well). Jay (Entertainment team) is a shot of fun and positivity and made the weekend a great experience. Food and drinks staff, plus leisure staff, need training on customer interactions. If you make a mistake it's fine, we're all human...but please apologise..that and a smile goes a long way. Very good value overall though.
Second visit and service massively dropped. No provision for any non-drinkers despite advertising alcohol free drinks. Restaurant food insufficient to meet demand so most options unavailable. Staff generally good and facilities and rooms very good. Will try a different site next year
Great place for a short break in a pleasant location. Certainly not fine dining but food acceptable and plenty of it if that's your think. A good number of daytime activities and great evening entertainment. Would be great if there could be early evening entertainment in the Piano Bar as nothing on offer until 8:30
Fabulous 80s weekend break. We had a Harbour Suite which had its own parking space and was next to the restaurant/entertainment centre and really close to all the facilities. The room was clean, spacious and warm with a fridge stocked with fresh milk and bottled water and there were tea and coffee facilities in the lounge as well as Frobishers drinks and posh crisps and cookies. The grounds are well maintained and the flowers were still in bloom in mid October. The entertainment was great, got everyone dancing and singing along every night. The food was good, usual standard Warner's fare and plentiful. The waiting staff were all friendly, helpful and efficient, thanks to Marlon, Annie and Regina for looking after us. Will we be back? Definitely!
Totally amazing long 80s themed weekend! The rooms are amazing and well furnished, linen was sparkling white and soft. One of our group of friends was taken poorly and a member of staff actually came to her chalet to see if she was okay and if she needed anything! We were all very impressed with this extra thoughtfulness. The food was amazing with a wide range to suit everyone. Highly recommended for a relaxing break xx
