5 star luxury in a delightful Cumbrian village for reasonable prices. I stayed for 3 nights. The Owner and his staff bent over backwards to be hospitable, professional and accommodating. Great local ales on tap, produce sourced thoughtfully from local purveyors and turned into wonderful food. The kippers in the morning were sensational. A warm, brilliant oasis in what was a wet December week. Highly recommend it to all.
Had mum and dads golden wedding here . The staff at the Kings head were so friendly and helpful. The buffet was fresh and tasty - we were all so well looked after! Thanks so much Kingshead - we will be back !
Stopped at the Kings Head for just one night whilst walking the Dales High Way. The room that i stayed in was a double and was comfortable enough for one but it would’ve been a little crowded for two. Had fish & chips in the restaurant which were excellent and so was the breakfast the following day. The place was tidy and well kept.
A touch of elegance and unique hospitality. Great and interesting building with period interior! Doing the C2C cycle we stopped her during a horrible howling storm. We felt like medieval characters stepping into a long lost tavern. A good selection of beer ( very local), was complimented with excellent food and big fluffy towels!!! Fresh fruit was on offer in the corridors and bar areas just in case you were peckish. Staff was amazing as 2 of the party had got lost, were long over due and getting cold. They organised a mini- retrieval and held food back for a very late arrival. Whole experience was wonderful and showed true Northern hospitality. Now planning a stop over weekend there too enjoy the surrounding countryside and villages.
A LOVELY pub we popped into on our way to the dales. Very friendly staff, a great fish and chips and a fine selection of books about the lakes. Good beers. On a sunny day you'd be able to see by the stream which looks delightful.
