During Faye’s 24 Hour 3 Peaks Challenge training, Faye and Rich headed to Snowdon, Wales. It was whilst staying with friends, who had recently renovated and reopened a B&B in Harlech, that the dream of owning a pub began.
On the long journey home, Faye and Rich talked at length and agreed to have a look around to see what was available in their price range... a map and pin decided that they’d start their search for their dream country pub in Devon.
All the staff where wonderful very helpfull and we all felt at home during our meal. I left a tip. Food was freshly prepared and plenty of choice of drinks. Parking can be tricky and isn't the pubs fault as it is located in the centre of the village.
Good quality food, very tasty and a nice selection to choose from. Meal enjoyed by all in the group with each having something different. I would say it was "meat" heavy menu, However there was a good selection of different vegetarian dishes also avaliable, not the one option like some other country pubs. Can't comment on food alegry alternatives as none required on this visit. Lovely to see the products are locally sourced. Service was friendly and welcoming, really nice the log fire was lit as made it feel more cosy. Will be back!!
Locally sourced food. Visited initially for Sunday Roast. That was fantastic. We were tempted back for an evening meal. Again, locally sourced burgers (from the butchers across the road). Amazing, tasty burgers. Desserts were super too. Apple crumble highly recommended.

An absolutely superb pub. We stopped in as we were nearby, and we couldn't be more impressed. The bar is lovely, with carved wood and a good atmosphere, as well as good drinks selection. The food was top notch pub grub, and we were grateful that the chef was very accommodating for some modifications for the children. The burgers are amazing, and sourced from the butcher across the road. The local sourcing runs through the menu and you can taste the quality. Would definitely recommend, and we'll be back.
