About us

The Aperfield Inn was formerly known as The Fox And Hounds after The ''Old Surrey Foxhounds'' who used to meet at the pub before their hunt. It now takes its name from an ancient spelling of "apple tree field" and is built on land that once formed part of the Manor of Aperfield. This was one of the manors that William the Conqueror presented to his half-brother following the Norman invasion in 1066, so it's fair to say the area is rich in history!

A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Whether you are planning dinner with friends or Sunday lunch with family, book a table online and enjoy some quality time with those you love the most.

The usual pub we go to for a Sunday Roast was fully booked so we tried the Aperfield Inn and it was lovely. The Roast was great and way better than the pub we usually go to. It had a nice atmosphere and wasn't overly crowded. The staff were friendly and attentive. We'll be back soon I'm sure.

We had an excellent Christmas lunch at the Aperfield! The food was perfect, everyone enjoyed their meals and there was a good selection for different dietary requirements. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Victoria who served us. Would definitely recommend!

This was a return visit after a previous unsatisfactory visit with some vouchers as compensation . This time the food was a lot better. The roasts were good and my trio of meats was tasty and very filling. However, the roasted potatoes were so hard to cut that we had to ask for steak knives to be able to cut them. My friend asked for cauliflower cheese as a side and this was so undercooked that it was almost impossible to cut, the cheese was minimal, and the white sauce was just water. The manager was advised and this item was taken off the bill, and she said she would sort out the kitchen!. The house red wine (Merlot) was excellent. For puddings we had the fruit crumble and an Eton Mess . The crumble was tasty but I think a blow torch had been used just a little too much so that the top was a bit burnt. The Eton Mess looked good, but was mainly cream with some meringue and half a raspberry and half a strawberry . I don't think we will be going again.

We have been coming here for some time . To be fair the past year or so hasn’t been up to their normal standards. But our last two visits have been exceptionally good. The food has improved significantly as have the portions(this has been lacking in the past). I’m guessing there is a new chef and top marks👍. We had the signature burger and sea bass and could not fault. Prices a little on the high however this seems the norm and you pay for what you get. As always the staff here are very friendly and overall a good pub for either a drink or a meal.

Hands down the best Sunday roast, family/baby/children friendly pub lunch in the area! Ample parking, warm and cosy, ambience, clean and spacious washroom, friendly and helpful staff. Most importantly, well executed roast with trimmings and unlimited gravy. The choices for kids are outstanding, good quality and healthy. It’s our first visit, but you bet we will be back. Keep it up!
