UPDATE December 2023 Had our Christmas meal here. Great service and friendly staff. But to be honest personally I was disappointed with the mushroom soup, Christmas meal was good but could have been hotter. Still have a number of good range of real beers. Good range of draught beers, food and service excellent. Would have been nicer if the restaurant area had been warmer. Service in the normal bar area was sporadic.

The service was superb. We went with my son who has Coeliac Disease. The server (Helen) was phenomenal. She double checked if anyone had put anything with gluten in into the fryer used for chips. They had … meaning the chips were no longer gluten free. So she arranged for his chips to be oven cooked rather than him miss out. Truly going above and beyond. Fantastic food and first class service. Thank you

Lovely little village pub! Food is really good, staff friendly, decor really pretty, proper country pub. Highly recommend. Had a meal here, Baked camembert was absolutely delicious and the ribs too!! Lovely cocktails!!

Inextricably humble. This locals pub in the heart of Ryarsh is firstly a historic monument. It celebrated the quirks of bygone era architecture. Low beams, large open fires, comfortable seating in the bar area and a capacious area for the restaurant. The seating area outside looked the part, unfortunately it was too dark in the late evening to make use of. This is good old fashioned English pub service and locally sourced homemade food. It’s hearty, fresh and considerately prepared. The ribs, a recommendation by the bar staff, was immense in size. The meat, covered in a good dollop of sauce, fell off the bone and consumed without cutlery. The side of chips and salad, freshly prepared, complementing beautifully. The light and fruity Eton Mess dessert raised a smile. Fluffy and delicate. I’m happy that The Nevill Bull just up the road was shut. The Duke of Wellington is a gem.
