Visited The Poacher and Partridge today for a family lunch with 6 of us. Impressed by the friendly and efficient service. Each of us very much enjoyed our food. One of our party somehow managed to order a pizza thinking it was a goats cheese salad! The manager was extremely accommodating, removed the pizza and provided a goats cheese salad (not on the menu) without any (visible) fuss whatsoever. We certainly could not fault the customer service. Clearly a popular venue and well worth the visit.
Wonderful country pub on Hartlake Road, Tudley. Previous visit a few years ago. A few changes around the garden area. Beautiful setting, big garden / patio area. Some inside tables did seem a little close to one another. We were on table 5 & directly behind my back was another round table & someone sat literally should to shoulder (I did eventually rearrange my seat for more room) One of our starters was not fully cooked (cold in middle 😕) this was quickly rectified & replaced with another- don't be afraid to complain if ever something is not right. Great overall. Would recommend for something a little different menu wise.
Well the food - when we got it was excellent. BUT there were 3 of us - we ordered 2 starters (for me) and 2 pizzas to come together. My starters arrived but no pizza. Having queried this we were informed that they had not been started. So a bit of a wait. No one came to clear. We were probably chatting for an hour. I went and asked whether we had to clear ourselves. Not sarcastically, I just wasn’t sure as orders were placed at the bar. So a bit of a wait. We decided to skip pud and ordered coffee. The bar man who had taken coffee order passed our table and asked whether we had had coffee - he then went to check. 25 minutes later we got coffee! Although the food, as stated, was excellent the service was abysmal. Maybe eating in side where your order is taken is the way to go but for this (and it wasn’t the deciding factor to eat outside 🥵) a 12 1/2% service charge is levied.
We absolutely loved it here. The views were amazing, the decor was brilliant, and there were ample seating areas, especially outside. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It had a great family vibe to it and welcomed dogs to the outside area. I would definitely recommend it here.
The Poacher & Partridge is home to an open-plan restaurant, bar, terrace and garden area, with uninhabited views across open farmlands. Great local pub restaurant. Nice enough that it feels like a treat, but affordable enough that it's not bank busting. The menu has something for everyone, and it's all good quality. Good vegan options. Nice outside space when weather is permitting.
