My family and I came to the Windmill Pub for Christmas lunch (2023). Things which make it worth a five star review are: - ample parking - warm and friendly welcome - beautifully cooked and presented food - family friendly - excellent service - warm and welcoming atmosphere. I would definitely recommend eating out here.
Had Christmas lunch with the family and it was a wonderful experience. Warm and relaxed atmosphere. Attentive staff, hot plates and food, which was delicious. Will definitely be booking for 2024.
My family and I went here for Christmas Dinner. The service was excellent, the restaurant was warm enough, plates hot and food was excellent. Attention to detail like hot plates, ensuring everyone has enough drinks all matter, and the windmill made this happen. Thank you everyone who worked hard to give us a lovely start to our Christmas. Very good
Do they taste the food?! What a shame. Lovely night out because of the company. The serving staff were friendly and pretty attentive, but the food was not good. My friend and I ordered muscles as a main. The muscles themselves were cleaned and cooked well, and they were nice big muscles. But the whole dish completely lacked flavour. There was hardly any sauce, and what was there appeared to be simply made of unsalted butter and water with some boiled onions thrown in. It was very odd! The muscles were nearly £20 and it was an eye watering £5 for a side of chips. Because dinner was so disappointing (for most - one friend enjoyed a nice meal), we opted to finish the meal on high other dessert. I had gyspy tart. The tart itself was yummy, but again, the ice cream completely lacked flavour. It was like they hadn't tasted it. It was so strange. For a place with a typical price point of £30 for a maim course, I'd expect a lot better. I won't be returning. At a final bill of £60 per head (with alcohol), it was vastly overpriced and completely disappointing.
Had a really good Sunday lunch here. Our granddaughters enjoyed the children's menu and play area. Pleasant and friendly staff. I wish we were staying here, prices are currently much cheaper than the chain pub we had booked in.
