I used to drink in here years ago and got married in St Mary's across the road. Unfortunately the Bull is now closed which is a real shame, if you live near a pub please support it if you can.

Went in for a Sunday roast with family and it was great. All the meat was cooked perfectly, the veg was lovely and the amount of food was almost obscene. No one cleared their plate, although we all gave it a good go. Only criticism was that the pub was a little cold and a bit dark, maybe a few fixtures and fittings needed fixing/tidying up. That being said I would definitely go again.

Came for lunch after seeing lots of positive reviews and reading through the website. It was advertised as such a lovely family friendly pub! We thought it would be perfect for a Sunday afternoon in the sun with friends. We were wrong. The best way to describe this place would be to ask you to imagine a pub a few years after the apocalypse, that is what it looked like. Run down, rubbish and weeds everywhere, it looked abandoned. Many small things would have changed my mind, but it was evident from the hour we spent there that they just weren’t happening. The staff were friendly, but absolutely clueless and so poorly trained in some cases. We had someone come to our table 4 times, and every time they just walked past the rubbish on the floor and glasses left on the tables (including in the kids play area, a health and safety risk!). When we left not a single table had been cleared. The food was mediocre at best. I left half of mine as it wasn’t worth eating. The dressed salad was nice. It took asking several times for them to bring a fruit shoot for my son, and when we asked for his ice cream from his kids meal (advertised as having marshmallows on) it was a tiny cheap polystyrene cup of ice cream. I would have been happier if the play area had have actually been tidied up, remove rubbish and glasses, clear away the brambles and the nettles. We may have stayed for a bit if it were just tidier. But when we walked around to look at the animals and saw the remnants of a bonfire and large pile of literal rubbish next to the chicken pen, I knew I couldn’t stay. As soon as we were finished with our food we left and went elsewhere for desert. Told our friends to meet us somewhere else. You had many staff on, maybe one of them could be tasked with tidying up? Clearing rubbish, glasses and weeds? We have no intention of going back. Edit: since the pub has decided to ignore all of my reasonable critiques, backed up by images where appropriate, by simply trying to insult me (apparently a keyboard warrior because I left one bad review 6 years ago!)and tell me it is my job to tell your staff how to do their job by telling them to tidy up the mess that is your outside area, I am adding this as a response. The simple fact that you won’t listen to criticism of any kind will be your downfall. Maybe listen to some of the things people are saying (many critiques are echoed again and again) and do something to fix them so your pub can thrive. Or don’t, and continue to believe that the opinions of your customers don’t matter. They will vote with their feet.

This is a hidden gem, except for the locals. Although the menu is small'ish the food is excellent and everything is cooked fresh. Great play area for the kids and a separate outside area for adults. Inside is light and airy with a great atmosphere. Gets busy on Friday when we normally go in. If you are nearby and looking for somewhere to pop in, you won't be disappointed 👍

The Bull Inn is set atop a hill in the beautiful agricultural surroundings of East Farleigh. It’s a good size pub with an ample car park and garden out back. On entering the light streams in though the large windows. Inside it feels new, but still holds onto its rustic roots. I love the many words of wisdom, nic nacks and art works backs decorating the interior. The serving staff was lovely, smiley and caring. Food took a while to be served, but was worth the wait. All food was prepared fresh and reasonably portioned. The pies are one of the specials which I had to try. With huge expectations, given sublime examples at the North Pole and Oak on the green, I was somewhat disappointed by the Bull Inns rendition. Bigger chunks of meat and more pastry! The Bull Inn is a great place, bright and beautiful. lovely staff and homemade value pub grub.
