I was pleasantly surprised as last time I visited which is now a few years ago, I was very disappointed. I got a warm welcome upon arrival and noticed that the restaurant had been refurbished since my last visit. It was warm inside and I observed that everything was clean and tidy. There is a great offer of two classic mains for £10.99 between noon and 6pm on week days and a starter and a dessert can be added for just £2.99 each. The regular menus meals are around £10 and above. There is a separate menu for kids. They have a good selection of drinks including some cocktails. I went for an orange fizz which was actually cheaper than a Coke zero. I had someone with me so our choice from the £10.99 for two meals was a lasagne and the cheese and onion pie. Both were very tasty, no sloppy lasagne here plus it had plenty of stretchy cheese. We had dessert to, a mini chicken sundae and a mini Knickerbocker glory. The staff were all polite and quite friendly. The restaurant is attached to a Premier Inn. They do a roast on Sundays. There is free parking
I have to say we went there for Breakfast today. Absolutely FANTASTIC! The food was plentiful and hot. Atmosphere was very calming for a buffet. We use to go here every Saturday for lunch 8 years ago with my elderly In-Laws, (who have since passed on). The service was good then and has remained the same. Keep up the GREAT BUFFET
I didn’t like that you had to help yourself to the hot breakfast so it’s not made fresh to order. There was no milk near the tea and coffee facilities. The milk was in a large container and it looked like it had gone off as there was lumps at the top of the container. When asked for fresh they said it was fresh but I didn’t want to risk it. The milk may have been fresh but the container certainly hadn’t been cleaned properly to have lumps on it. The toaster didn’t work properly meaning you had warm bread or you’d have to wait for ages and keep putting it in to be toasty. Much better service at the manor farm and more helpful and friendlier staff there too.
Went there twice for lunch. A cozy local pub that provided good food at good value. So much ingredients for a delicious classic cheeseburger and club sandwich. Would be good if there are more tea options available.
Really good food, big portions couldn't eat it all 😊 friendly and helpful staff. Will revisit in the future. Only reason I give a 4 stars, only downside is that the entrance for cars is a bit convoluted, close to a roundabout - you need to be careful not to miss your exit and the entrance is on the left hand side as for the Holiday Inn - may be difficult for someone who doesn't know the area which way to go.
