This down-to-earth pub and renowned local music venue has featured live music for over 50 years under the ownership of the same landlady.
The large L-shaped bar and stage are surrounded by music posters, a large mirror and long bench seating.
Up to four real ales are on offer, principally from Kent microbreweries, with a real cider from Duddas Tun.
On Wednesday, real ales cost just £2.50 and good-value food is served in the evening. There is also a charity quiz night held at the end of each month.
To the rear there is a pleasant beer garden.
The pub is easily accessible by bus and there is a public car park opposite.
The pub can open earlier by prior arrangement.

Considering it's winter, the last thing you'd expect to see is flying bugs, but there were loads of them!
Lovely building which has recently seen refurbishment and restoration to the exterior - once again a fine looking local pub hosting a variety of live music entertainment and in particular, Jazz on a Sunday evening. Update 2023 - once again the pub is starting to look shabby .. which is a shame.
Good pub amazing staff and friendly atmosphere Good music scene.
Comedy night with London based performers, Canterbury Tales, decor steeped in Jazz history of pub. Friendly and accommodating staff. It's my go to pub as a single lady.
I visited here today (Monday 18/09/2017) at about 13:30. I could see the TV was on...but despite trying both doors...I found them locked...no one answered them to allow entry? Won't be back. Luckily, 100m away is a fantastic pub, who actually open when they say so.
