Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to share my review of this establishment so you may be able to make an informed decision before attending this dear restaurant. A humble pub in the outskirts of the capital city, I was recommended this place for a tasty dinner before a long drive back to the West Country. I was famished after a long day of sightseeing and walking aplenty in the great streets, lined with festive decorations, and bouncing with visitors. I was served by a young, handsome gentleman who identified himself as Alex and had us situated jolly quick. I had a real hankering for a proper Sunday dinner while my dear wife enjoyed some fish and chips. Our waiter who had brought us drinks, even accommodating for my necessity of a 0% drink. Our meals were brought in very reasonable time and I have to say, I will certainly be returning here very soon, provided the standards remain the same in the kitchen and outside the kitchen. Parking was free and an adequate smoking area was available for shelter from the typical British weather. The only negative remark I could possibly utter is the behaviour of certain locals who left a slightly sour taste in our mouths. Otherwise however, a fine experience which I will look back upon with fondness. I must again reiterate how great our service was and that these standards should be upheld universally in my opinion!
First time visiting for many years and came away disappointed on a quiet Thursday night. Indoor tables are a bit too cramped for parties of over 10. No pizzas were offered on menus as only one adult pizza was available to purchase (ie only one customer would be able to buy pizza that night). First time I've ever found a bone in a chicken burger (which was also quite dry). IMO the food is overpriced for the quantity and quality offered.
Went here for a casual lunch with some friends and their kids. Good service and decent pub grub food. Be warned that the car park is a bit tight and not quite big enough to cope with the volume of people visiting.
If you like cold food this is the place for you. Cold mash, cold red cabbage and a steak and ale pie which needed an SDS drill to get into. Gravy was nice. The chicken on the skewer was tough had a quaint taste which was worrying. Desert was cold custard and cold sticky toffee pudding. Elton mesh was a plate full of cream one scoop of ice cream and you needed a map to find the meringue. Strawberries were nice, I have had better food in hospital which says a lot. Obviously not enough kitchen staff to cope with the amount of customers . Waitress was their best attribute. We were given a discount but would rather have had an edible meal. You have been warned.!
This pub last summer was packed on every single sunny day, however now you can see on my picture is empty! Reason is the management is unprofessional and doesn’t know how to run a pub, no food to eat at all at 8:00pm on a sunny day, no much choice on Sundays you can’t even get a burger and the new menu is disgusting and pure McDonald’s can do better previous menus was delicious ! Not writing this review to patronise but would like to see this pub again as it ones was packed with people and really good food not what it has become! We normally come as family and our bills were always not less than £400-£500 today bills is £40 because we can’t even get food and decided to go to a different place Please this is a message to The owners sort this out so we can carry on enjoying this amazing place ! I’m sure you can see your revenue is down ! Service is great all the young boys and girls are very friendly and amazing love them Problem here is who ever is running this pub
