Relax in front of the fire, perch at the bar or tuck yourself away in a cosy corner and enjoy the superb food, drink and atmosphere in our quintessential Kentish Pub located in the heart of the Garden of England.
Explore our food and drinks menu, built around the best local produce and suppliers the surrounding countryside and coastline has to offer. Seasonality is key, which is why all our menus are constantly evolving throughout the year, from beautifully fresh fish and ripe fruit & veg in Summer to slow cooked meats and piping hot pies and hot pots in the Winter.
Community is also of the greatest importance to us and we hope to continue the long standing relationship the pub has with its local patrons through midweek events and food nights to Summer Fetes and Barbecues, complete with fun and games for all the family, whilst creating an atmosphere that attracts people from far and wide.
Love this place - been for food a couple of times now and they've nailed it on both occasions. The place just feels so laid-back and welcoming. It's the kind of spot where you'll want to hang out, grab some fantastic grub, and soak up the atmosphere!
Amazingly beautiful rural, one of the pickled egg group (used to be rambling inns) Young man very welcoming on the phone. A perfect waiting staff member Adam. Friendly, polite courteous, accommodating to everyone. I believe Hugh is the manager who obviously runs it well. Food delicious, perfectly cooked and presented and no quibbles when responding to "can I have a bit more mash" Young girls staff did their best and obviously well trained I only had a problem with one staff member over zealously rearranging the furniture noisily while we were still at table ... Also personally I don't like to see staff chewing, eating, drinking in main areas Overall wonderful experience. What they are unaware of is we were having a difficult time with work and stress, which their wonderful venue helped alleviate. Especially Adam...thank you
Beautiful pub, cosy atmosphere and really lovely service, drinks reasonably priced, but food portions rather small and average-tasting for such high prices. Otherwise great! Would come back but eat before or after
Our first visit to this pub, certainly won't be our last. Celebrating my husbands birthday, he was greeted with happy birthday, even had a man hug from the landlord, very welcoming indeed. Had a birthday board on our table and hubbies dessert came out with a candle, very special touches. In addition, lovely country pub and wonderful food, service was excellent. Keep doing what you're doing Duke William 🙂
