Shame from how much it's improved, feels like it's slipped again. Went at lunch, many things sold out, 40 min wait for food that's fine, but drinks took 20 min, then we went up and asked and there was a pile of unprocessed drinks receipts at the bar, so then we got our drinks. Then we eventually got our food after an hour. No where near enough staff, feel very sorry for them.
It was the coldest day of the winter with outside temperature of minus 4 degrees centigrade and the heating in the Ember Inn pub was not working! Our allocated table was next to a window with freezing wind draft. We asked to be moved but were told no other tables were available. Many other customers were feeling the chill and complained but nothing was done. The management made no attempt to pre-inform the booked customers about the failure of the heating system. There were also no additional temporary electric heaters in sight that were plugged in to keep the restaurant at a reasonable temperature?
We went for lunch this afternoon, was very busy but a really good atmosphere nothing was too much trouble even though they were run of their feet. Also met the new manager lovely welcome thank you Kelly and the team merry Christmas.
So our 2 st visit - lovely pub warm and welcoming staff . Drinks and food price very reasonable. Only 1 fault was roast potatoes unbeatable. And over cooked stuffing and pigs in blankets but meat lovely and starters and desserts lovely and really liked having our own gravy and custard boats brilliant 🤩. I would definitely visit again . Merry Christmas
Can not fault the quality of the food however they have cut down the portion size to ridiculous measures especially the chips. Pub very busy but staff always do their best to serve you as quickly as possible with a smile. Will be looking for a new local that gives more value for your money.
