To bring joy to a generation for years and years, the spirited host has welcomed one and all with everything that is good and true and enjoyable in this world. Because The George Inn comes from a place where a barnstorming social life is a way of life, where people pour in to experience something more than a mere bar, where character means character, where every rip-roaring night feels like St. Patrick’s Day and where good times are a given.

Good times that are easy to find and even easier to enjoy right in the heart of your town or city celebrating the Irishness of it all and the togetherness of it all, whether you want to slow down the world for a few glasses of fizz with the girl, a spot of lunch with a side dish of tasty banter, a cosy meal for two, fine food and good drink shared with goodwill and good humour, with much of the menu sourced from or inspired by the Emerald isle, or trip the craic fantastic.

Despite being a frequent visitor to Beckenham over many years, this was my first visit to The George Inn. I should have visited it sooner. Very pleasant staff, 4 real ales to choose from, and a CAMRA discount. I went for the Harvey's Best, not expecting anything great as I don't think it travels all that well. However, this was the best pint I've had outside Lewes, where Harvey's Brewery dominates the local brewing industry there (honourable mentions to the Beak and Abyss breweries). The pub was fairly quiet when I visited (Saturday afternoon), but there were a few regulars, and in time, these were joined by more customers. The pub has a large outside seating area, and inside, it's a clean and spacious traditional style pub. I didn't eat, but a quick look at the menu revealed varied choices, so I will be back for a Sunday lunch soon with my family. The pub also puts on entertainers for its customers. I spied an advert for a George Michael tribute act when I was there. Overall, it is a very pleasant place to spend an hour or so and enjoy a pint or two.

Very nice and cosy pub The food is excellent and same for the service The staff is so lovely! There is a very good atmosphere and people in there are well behaved. :)

Came in for some food and a pint. Staff were friendly and the pub itself was nice enough. I just don’t understand why some places bother serving food, if all they can muster is some dry, frozen burger that looked and tasted like it came straight from Iceland. I had to dig deep to find traces of the signature burger sauce, spoiler alert, it was just plain old burger sauce from a squeeze bottle, wheezing it’s last splatterings onto our soggy buns. What a sad experience and waste of money. If you have low expectations when it comes to gastronomic experiences, I highly recommend. The beer was lovely.
