Richard, Jill, Ashley, Kathryn and Stuart Persey and our excellent team of staff welcome you to our traditional country pub. We specialise in creating superb food using as much locally sourced fresh ingredients as possible.
The West Country is a food larder, and Ashley Persey, our head chef, endeavours to utilise its harvest whenever possible, creating meals with quality and uniqueness. Make sure to check the specials board for the latest changing seasonal dishes.
Local Ales and ciders are the basis of our guest drinks, and as with our food we try to support local business whenever possible. Our portions are generally not for the faint hearted, and we are able to provide smaller portions if requested.

On the weekend before Christmas you expect busy, you expect food taking a bit longer to come out but you don't necessarily expect the most cheerful and wonderful team of front of house staff to be there making your day! Great food, generous portions but exceptional staff. Well done and a well deserved Happy Christmas from us!
Lovely little pub/restaurant, we went there for a roast dinner. The food was really good, and they had gluten free options. Great selection of puddings too. Service was slow but that was only because it was so busy, obviously a very popular place to go!!
Lovely old pub, with excellent food and beer and helpful, friendly staff! Lovely Sunday roast and great tasting homemade curry! It must be a good pub? As full of locals on Sunday, always a good sign? Whole place was clean and tidy! So all good, been in twice this week and going back on Friday for our last night!👍🍺
Nice friendly staff. Small interior so worth booking during peak season to ensure you have a table. Starter was a lot which made it hard finish our mains which were sticky BBQ pork chop and Chicken with leak and bacon sauce. That said the food was cooked well and tasted good. Good value for money.
We found this pretty pub on death road. Cute thatch roof, pretty floral garden. Staff were reasonably friendly but the service was very slow and slap dash. The food itself wasn’t too bad. Very generous when it comes to portion size but it was quite expensive and the menu’s felt a bit thrown together. Had to eat outside due to lack of inside tables all of which were reserved. The bench that I sat on collapsed so could have been disastrous but it was fine, I was okay.
