About us

Welcome to the capital of Dorset! The Junction Hotel is a traditional six bedroom coaching inn, located in the heart of this traditional market town on Great Western Road. Dorchester is an historic market town best known for its links with Thomas Hardy and his novel 'The Mayor of Casterbridge' and you can enjoy the ambience and atmosphere of Dorchester itself with its famous market every Wednesday. Other attractions include the Dinosaur Museum, Roman Town House, Thomas Hardy Cottage and the giant fort, just outside the town, dating from 3000BC. The heart and soul of the hotel remains the pub itself and there is plenty of opportunity to find a cosy corner in our traditional bar. Whatever time of day you pop into The Junction, there's plenty of atmosphere as customers tuck into the fine pub food or sample a selection of the superb choice of cask ales, lagers, wines and soft drinks. Hotel accommodation prices include our fantastic free breakfast.

Perfect venue for a four generation family meal. Great service, food, wine and beer. We also spent the night in a spacious, warm room with very comfortable bed. Delicious full English breakfast and plenty of coffee, toast etc

Ate here on Thursday and tried out their steak deal. Well worth the money. Landlord was friendly and helpful, gave some good local recommendations as we are new to the area. Will definitely be returning.

Large town pub and restaurant in the heart of Dorchester. Offers sports on a big screen and great beer but also offers a quieter area for dinning. Staff are very welcoming. Recommended 👍

Effectively a Sports bar with football on everywhere you turned ( I like football but I came for a drink ) It makes for a lively place though. I had a Budweiser & it was off ! Nuff said .

Brilliant meals and staff are lovely and friendly vast menu. However the toilets are awful broken toilet seat and not very clean. The hand dryers didn't work and a member of staff informed me that you need to thump dryer in order for it to work. But the restaurant part itself is great as were our meals.
