The Jack Rabbit sits on the old road from Plymouth to Tavistock , near to the towns of Derriford and Crownhill. The Fort at Crownhill is the best preserved of Lord Palmerston's Ring of Fire which surrounded Plymouth in Victorian times, protecting the Royal Dockyard at Devonport from French attack and bombardment.

Very poor quality of food and service. Had the “festive menu” at £31.95 per head. Very small portions. Two of us had a steak with chips and 3 tiny tomatoes both were raw and cold. A chicken pie was served instead of the venison that was ordered ? Told none available after a 45 minute wait and we didn’t want to have to wait any longer. The two children’s meals were poor quality overcooked small burgers with carrots? Never worth the money at £11.99 each. Discount card held could not be used when we paid. It took over two and a half hours while others who came in after were served much quicker. Will not be going back. A shame as the place is nice but the family meal for New Years Eve was a huge disappointment.
Myself and my family have just returned home from a wonderful evening spent at the Jack Rabbit. We were there to celebrate my Aunts birthday today. From the moment we arrived we felt so welcome. We were greeted upon entering by the lovely host Glenn and was shown to our table. Our table was set up beautifully with the centre candle glistening adding to the already beautiful ambiance. Our wonderful server Terri then came over to introduce herself whilst handing each of us a menu. We ordered our drinks and they were delivered promptly. Our food order was taken and delivered in good time. The dishes prepared and cooked by the head chef Ollie and his team were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The whole table full of compliments for their chosen dish. The fish and chips was incredible! Terri came and checked on us throughout our meal, she was professional and not intrusive. As it was my aunts birthday we had arranged a birthday cake to be bought out, the team working sang happy birthday which I thought was a personal touch and it made my aunts evening! All in all myself and my family had a great visit from start to finish. So I thank you team Jack Rabbit for your hospitality. We will be back that I’m certain of.
Came here for a Birthday meal (70th) team were fab, very friendly and perfectly attentive. Food great quality, reasonably priced. Tribute on tap as well, nice one
Very busy restaurant. Booking advised. Shares car park with Travelodge which is situated behind the pub. Parking is free once you give your car's registration number to the person on the front desk. They will ask you to input your number into the tablet by the check in desk. Menu is given to you when you sit down at your table. Your drinks order is taken first while you choose what you want to eat. The food is nice and tasty. Downloading the app allows you to order food and also pay the bill from your table. Well worth a try.
Visited for lunch on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Both meals were tasty, well-presented, good value. Burgers, calamari, pizza all good. Cooked breakfast very good. (Pastries not so). Vintage Inn chain offer set range of beer on tap and wines, but good selection. Sign up for the dining-in loyalty via their app - some nice rewards available.
