The location is really nice and the food was OK. That's a good side. This isn't a dog friendly place at all. We were told the dog must be locked in the room at all times. Usually dog friendly hotels allow you to sit in the bar area. Not here. But the person in the white shirt, probably a manager, who spoke to us said we can take the food and sit outside on the terrace in January!! Some nice ScandinavianexperienceI assume. Also, they put us in the room next to the entrance door. Common sense would be to locate the dog owner on the far end. Luckily, our dog was very well behaved and didn't bark every time people came in and out slamming the door. Hotel rooms are very outdated. it seemed like I was back in the 90s again. Mattress was okay and could not complain about the water pressure either.

I been in worst Christmas party ever! Booked the table for 7pm our table was number 8, 12 of us £39 each, ridiculous! Soup been served around 8:20am, the soup came cold after the carvery took another hour to be served...just one person dishing...the beef was hard, .mash looks awful...well never been so disappointed no presentation at all...none of us enjoy! Finally the dessert New York cheesecake...well oh my god...cheesecake cake from supermarket with one spoon of icecream (melted)..horrible taste...but the worst of the night was when one of us went to the bar to buy a can of coke , and they sell the ones they not allowed 🚫 a multipack of cans not to be sold separately! Ridiculous! Well never again! Merry Christmas 🎅

A good breakfast. Room was a little dated, some lights weren't working, and problems with WiFi, but otherwise did the job. Dog friendly, although they aren't allowed in the bar. The best place is the Lounge nearby that allow dogs and food is good.

We booked a baby shower for my daughter. We paid just over £500 for 37 guests, some children. When I booked and paid the deposit I told them of the dietary requirements of a few of the ladies, a nut allergy, a citrus allergy, no butter and a vegan. To say the food was disappointing is an understatement. The staff just put the plates of sandwiches and cakes, which a lot of us felt was no where near adequate for the price we paid, plonked on the table. We had to ask which ones were the dietary restricted ones and one of the staff didn’t even know! The nut allergy lady had almonds, the citrus lady had lemon tart and the no butter had a cheese doorstep! As for the vegan lady- well, they literally gave her half a loaf of lettuce cucumber and tomato sandwiches (she doesn’t like tomato or cucumber) Considering the price and the amount of notice they were given to say we were disappointed doesn’t even come close. I will definitely not be recommending or returning to the Royal Ivy Bush Hotel.

We took a trip to wales and we booked this hotel to stay in for a couple of nights, the location is good and there is adequate parking available. The hotel is presented nicely as you enter and the staff members were friendly enough, we booked two rooms and there was a £15 difference which we didn’t think much of, however upon entering the £15 less room, we were shocked at the difference in the quality and presentation, it was extremely dated and with condensation between the windows and a squeaky bed. We did have a chat with the reception staff, they weren’t interested. We then visited the room that cost a little more to realise it had been fully refurbished with fridge, and the whole room was nicely presented and somewhere you rather stay in so be aware when you book a cheaper room here as you really do get cheaper quality though there isn’t much difference in price. The rooms are in desperate need of updating. The town centre is walking distance with restaurants and shops. The breakfast was the highlight of the hotel stay, the staff were extremely friendly and always willing to help where possible and the food was spot on, couldn’t fault the breakfast offerings.
