Had a lovely meal there last night. Also they accidentally put way too much chilli in my kids' mac and cheeses, they gave them complimentary drinks, replaced the food as quickly as they could and knocked off a few items from the bill as compensation. Staff were all friendly and understanding and food was good. Highly recommend the place for dinner and a drink.

After 5 years driving past the Star/ Smokin' Jack's, we thought it was high time we went and tried it out. Very pleasant and welcoming staff from the moment we arrived. Great service and amazing food. One signature burger, A very large half rack of ribs, Baconator fries, Key lime pie, Red velvet cheesecake. Nb the deserts are delicious and very obviously made in house, there aren't many restaurants of any size that can deliver such attention to detail. A welcome change from caterer supply tosh. All dishes are well worth having again, but we will be going back to try some more of the menu. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another fantastic visit to smokin jacks, was very busy but the staff were on top of all orders. The deputy sheriff (Michaela) was fab and in control the whole time, she even took the time to make sure we had a great photo. The food was sooooo good and the cocktails are a must. Smokin jacks does get busy so booking in advance is something to take into consideration, a little wait for food is definitely worth it.

We booked last minute through the website for a table at 6pm for our anniversary. We had an email within 45 mins explaining that they couldn’t do 6pm but could do 630pm so we excepted but explained our taxi was already booked and that we were in no rush as we were out for our anniversary. We arrived just before 6pm and was seated and great very quickly and professionally even though we arrived early and at the same time as a table of 8. We ordered food and drinks within 10 mins of being seated. It was unfortunate that the honey rolls weren’t ready so we could have them as complimentary to the table as per the menu but we understand the pub can get really busy and with all food being made on the premises these things happen. I could tell the “Deputy Sheriff” had been in hospitality game for a while as she was very good at making sure everything happened at the right time for instance the seated tables had complimentary nacho chips due to the honey rolls not being available but they came at around 20 mins after ordering which is the correct and sensible way to do things (don’t lay all your cards on the table too early) my wife had the Unicorn Burger which looked amazing, the colours and the glitter was impressive as was the taste. I had the Jack Daniels Burger which was amazing too so tasty and again looked really good the sweet potato wedges were great. We also asked for mozzarella sticks which again was really good. None of the food was greasy, under/over cooked or cold which for a busy undermanned pub that prepares and cooks everything on site was a great achievement. There are a couple of negative reviews on here that mention about poor service and the owners children which I feel after our experience twisted and cruel. If you have ever been in the hospitality industry like myself you would understand how that it doesn’t take much to start the snowball effect and rude customers don’t help, I mean even Claridges have their off days and as for the children being behind the bar so what it is nice to know that there are families within the industry that can still have some family life too (which I didn’t have hence why I am no longer in hospitality). Toni, what you and your husband along with your staff have achieved is really good and something that I feel will eventually be vital with the right moves you gave us a lovely evening and a place that we will definitely be back to visit again. And as for your son helping you during service you must be so proud and hopefully in a few years his dad will have a Sous Chef to take some of the load off.

nice little pub/restaurant. food was lovely. I could eat the Texas toast as a big plate meal alone it was so tasty. For people moaning on here about wait times yes there is a bit of a wait but not the longest wait for food i have ever had, tho from myself an partner having worked in pubs an restaurants we totally understand why you wait when its cooked fresh not just microwave food. enjoyed joining in wearing a cowboy hat
